There just seem to be a lot of people hurting their own enjoyment by maximizing the efficiency of casual/trivial things. Like, the people who’ll research the new dungeons despite them launching without keystones active.
I agree with your overall sentiment, except for this quoted part here. Zones used to be designed with flying in mind ie. Netherstorm, Stormpeaks, Deepholm, ect. These days flying is just a terrain skip.
No. It is a well known fact. Your Pathfinder will turn into a Legacy at some point and the zones will auto unlock flying in them. There is no way you can not know that unless you just began playing the game this expansion pack and do not know about the pathfinder.
Yup. I made it up. Blizzard also made it up. All the Youtubers who said it was removed also made it up. I am just imagining that I am able to fly in game when I did not unlock it.
Pathfinder gets removed after a while. i dont see how you could not know that.
Need more proof? i can post more proof and if that still is not enough you can go to the CS forums and ask where your Pathfinder went and if that still is not enough, you can submit a ticket to ask where it went. if that still is not enough proof, then I dont know what to tell you. but me saying that every Pathfinder does eventually get removed is not made up. It is a well known fact.
You been playing the game a while. How could you NOT know that?
More people talking about the removal of it. Some are for it, some against it and some are glad that it happened and want it to happen again.
I DID NOT make this up. It really does get removed.
If you cant unlock it, not my fault. You have an entire epxac do to it at the very minimum ad yes it is becoming legacy soon as it will be removed and auto given to all new players and current players who did not obtain it.
Remember when I could fly at max, and for alts at lower levels. Now we’re up to unlocking flying twice in the same expansion, you can’t even fly in all the zones and you can’t fly between each zone either.
Don’t bother with matching the price. I’d rather unlock without gold on all of my characters, all at once. That’s another reason I wouldn’t want a lore reason because then how does it work with alts?
They literally just implemented this recently. There is also no guarantee that they’re going to continue to follow this trend. BfA is still locked behind pathfinder and there has been no news that says that’s going to change any time soon.
I am 100% positive that they will. Way too many people are complaining about it. I do not want it to change because I hate grinding it all out only to have it be for a waste because it becomes free later, but I do have to admit that I think it will come to pass whether or not we want it to.
Who are you to say they’re hurting their enjoyment? People who research dungeons aren’t there for the sights. They’re doing it to get rewards. The ones doing M+ right now over level 15 or so aren’t really getting anything out of it except Valor and doing more challenging content. That’s what they like.
WoW has always been about player created content. Things the design team never even thought of that ends up making it into the game as a regular feature. M+ came from that. Player innovation gave us transmogrification, M+, addons that have been incorporated into the game, and more.
I mean you’re not 100% sure because you’re not the one who decides that lol. Also how is this a solution to the problem? You have to wait 4+ years at least for flying to unlock in an old xpac? I don’t understand what you’re point is.
If any of these reasons actually mattered to Blizz they would’ve just removed flying lol. Like these arguments somehow become irrelevant halfway through an xpac? They either matter or they don’t.
Blizz gates flying for the same reason they gate everything else, to keep players from finishing content too fast, getting bored, and unsubbing.
WoW has always disabled flying until a certain point for a number of reasons:
You experience more of the world when you’re on the ground vs the air.
Flying trivializes the leveling experience by basically cutting the amount of time & effort by 50% or more.
World feels less empty when people are on the ground.
Economy changes a lot once flying is implemented due to cut the time investment required in gathering herbs & ore.
I can see more of the world while flying - literally.
Not flying trivializes my time. After I’ve completed the main story for the zone, why do I need to grind anything to fly?
World feels the same. People are on the ground to do content. In fact, people have an easier time arranging for group fun content in a zone when they can fly to it - skipping the hordes of mobs that are there just to slow down travel.
Economy changes a lot when you can buy tokens. As a result there are always bots and AH predators who set the economy. Flying has a pretty minor impact compared to other issues.
