I tolerate it on my small races that I heal/tank on in the visually darker instances. But my Tauren? If you are having a hard time keeping track of my Tauren rolling around waving his hands like a mook then I doubt a blue mark over my head is going to help.
Same here… I’m wearing highly ornate gold armor with a huge glowing shield on my back… just follow the glowy person.
It’s useful in some contexts, like in chaotic fights, where positioning is still important.
But for the most part it doesn’t matter and pretty much the only reason I mark myself is when it’s pretty apparent that someone has no idea how to navigate the dungeon as part of a “hey, I’m over here, go this way” kinda deal.
Even on big bois. There might be multiple Taurens, tank might have died and is walking back and one of the melee doesnt notice and pulls, etc. There’s just no downside aside from “I can’t see with the marker.” At that point, if a marker is blocking your screen maybe stop playing a Nintendo DS lol.
I love the markings, any chance to bring attention to my wonderful form, I’ll gladly take
Sounds more like a crutch for people who aren’t paying attention to what’s going on.
They might not like getting peed on?
The downside is that it lessons my enjoyment while playing. I’ll admit its minor but it is as minor as you needing it to keep track of someone.
I don’t like it. Just like I don’t get anything from my Transmog but when I get a item and the instance or where ever I am allows mounting I’ll almost instantly mount up and Transmog it. Because I’d rather not have it look out of place.
Well, tank not having the make lessens my enjoyment of the game. your lack of enjoyment and mine cancel out, now we’re left with only positives of having the mark and no negatives lol.
I mean, I wonder, wtf are people doing in a dungeon that they lose track of the tank? How checked out are you while playing if you need to mark the tank?
They don’t, because me not having it is something you and you alone have to deal with. Me having it is something you get and I have to deal with. They’re not the same.
You should ask for blizz to introduce something that you can see and place on others to help that doesn’t show for the character you put it on.
While leveling? I’m literally watching a movie on my second monitor and going through the dungeon on autopilot and im not the only one.
Seems like a nameplate addon could potentially mark people by dungeon role with the visual effect only being client side. I couldn’t name a particular addon for this purpose though, I’m just using ElvUI defaults at the moment.
Blizzard loves making the viewing angles as an additional affix for every dungeon. Think Waycrest manor or tol dagor. Some people just do not want that extra stuff in front of their face. My suggestion is to just turn on nameplates
And that’s why running with randos sucks.
I mean they are though. You having is you dealing with it, you not having it is me dealing with. The amount of suffering is equal between us and cancels out. Now every other reason to have it and not to have it can compare and those reasons are in favor of having it.
Yeah that’d be good.
Except you’re not suffering cause you aren’t paying any attention to the game. Everyone else is suffering with you half-butt play style.
And now we find the real reason he has to have the tank marked…
hint: he’s in front of all of the mobs.
Why would u need to mark the tank?
Unless your in a raid, i don’t see the point
