Why do so many people whine about Pathfinder?

I agree this argument will never end, but firmly disagree that Pathfinder is for “no-lifers”. I’m a complete casual (check my armory if you don’t believe me). Pathfinder is right up my alley. Log in, do some dailies, log out.

My main issue with it is having to unlock wold and legion flying. When the expansion is done let us fly in it imo. Its not a huge deal just kind of annoying. my second main issue with it is it limits the design team from making more layered zones. Nazatar would not have been bad if we could fly in it right away.

Are you honestly trying to claim that anyone who doesn’t have huge issues with Pathfinder must be a “no lifer”? LOL. You’re adorable! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Because the world quest system stinks.

Are you brain dead?

No, I’m claiming that anyone who says they complete pathfinder by “playing the game normally” is probably in the demographics of people that have 50 alts, a gazillion gold and too much time on their hands.

These people inhabit these forums antagonizing anyone who complains about mandatory time sinks. Their motto is “If I had to do it you must do it too.”

But as I said before this is not the problem. The problem is that Blizzard is catering the game too much for this audience and leaving others in the dust. They should find a balance.

I like a good cheese with my wHine. On a serious note, I do wish the Pathfinder was front-loaded. Yes I did like the older siystem better, but I’ve adapted, but again I’d like to reiterate that my preference would be to be able to complete pathfinder in one go at the beginning of an expansion.

You’d be wrong.

I think my issue with it is if you aren’t around for one.

I came back at the end of legion and going back to do draenor to get flying and try and do legion stuff and get legion pathfinder was kinda an annoying beast.

Just kinda becomes a bar to players coming back or coming in.

If they made it so the current pathfinder unlocks older ones I’d be good with that. Wouldn’t punish you for taking breaks.

Pathfinder this expansion was actually pretty easy, and I managed to get it with pretty minimal effort aside from the week or two grind of Nazjatar and Mechagon when they released. But, I feel like next expansion I’ll be pretty worn out on the premise if it is once again two stages that sum to “Get reputation with 7 factions to revered”.

While I’m pretty okay with Pathfinder in practice, it’s not really perfect. Having reputations all have a finite amount of rep you can earn daily through world quests and emissaries is pretty bogus; and the pathfinder system feels like an artifical way to get people grinding the reputations for people who otherwise wouldn’t.

It would make it a lot easier to swallow next expansion if they offered something either like the faction tabards that gave rep per dungeon kills in WotLK, or the reputation boosts with a favored faction in Pandaria that came from completing dungeons.

And if they wanted to make reputations desirable to farm throughout an entire expansion why not add rep based shoulder enchants back into the game???

Edit: Forgot to mention needing to farm Draenor Pathfinder a few years passed its expiration date is bogus. It’s bogus.

Nah, he’s just trolling. But people keep feeding him.

They want flight for free, that’s all it is.

Having a gold price on something means it’s free.
Astonishing.

You just want a gold price because it is the path of least resistance, you’d whine about that too if it wasn’t.

Hell, you’d still whine even it was a gold price.

Given that many have asked specifically for the gold price to return, you’re just making up positions to oppose now. Strawmen make poor demons no matter how many antlers you put on them.

If this were true, you’d actually do pathfinder and stop complaining if you wanted flight. Are you afraid of exploring zones?

Amazing, someone who doesn’t bother to look at profiles and see that I have them all! I’ve even got loremaster. It’s the reason pathfinder exists, and the requirements for everything done on ONE character so I can’t keep the content fresh, and the need to have ALL the reputations on ONE character regardless of which ones that character needs and which other characters need that I’ve complained about.

Your claim that people will complain about having the gold price back (really, how?) is still a strawman because the only ones who have said they don’t like the gold price are people who like that all their alts get it immediately. With all the posts people have made on the topic, how is it that you haven’t paid attention or remember any of it?

Congratulations, you moved a whole goalpost and made a strawman while you were at it.
I’ve never complained about gold sinks, though. If there’s something I want locked behind gold I’ll just do things I enjoy until I have the funds for it, because you have many more options when it comes to making money than you do to achieve Pathfinder.

Eh, I get pathfinder by playing the game normally; I’m primarily a wq/daily/profession player, with m+ and raiding as my side game. Everything that’s in pathfinder, I would do in the normal course of play. Outside of the part 2 timegate, pathfinder is actually perfectly designed for my playstyle.

I still think it’s a terrible system, because not everyone plays the way I do. I’m not sure why so many folks seem to have trouble with the concept that different people do different things.

Easy, every expansion.
