Why do ppl dislike BFA?

Some of you clearly are.

The mere existence of your current argument depends on the continuation of the absolute foolishness of both Tewa and Gunshot.

If Tewa wasn’t a toddler and could admit that the dumb thing he said was wrong, then Gunshot couldn’t have jumped in and prolonged it with the extra dumb things he needed to say.

If neither of those toddlers existed, you couldn’t be here acting like I’m the one focusing on the compass. What I’m focusing on is Tewa’s lying and inability to admit that he lied.

Why do you care so much about a guy who’s upset about bear druids?

He’s really passionate about it and he’s upset.

Are we just supposed to let things we love become crap, or are we allowed to vent and complain?

Something, something, human nature?

You don’t just lie and take it, you put your foot down and start talking.

I honestly know a lot of folks who are unhappy with their specs going from Legion to BFA.

I remember something especially bad about Shamans early on, like they needed the right traits to even be competitive.

You guys can bark back and forth but it’s obvious to anyone that classes have been changed, some more drastic than others, but OVERALL MOST seem in agreement of a prune/nerf since Legion. To MOST classes.

Also the point of these forums is just to talk, kick rocks, and blow steam.

It’s not a lie to say that classes went through a lot of changes in BfA though. They did. That was kind of the whole thing with the removal of artifacts and the addition of GCDs… Blizzard even gave progress updates where they could on how the rebuilding of some specs was going.

It probably seems like I’m going after you because you’re the one I responded to, but really I thought it was funny in general that people were going back and forth so much about such a random bit of lore.

I don’t like patch 8.3 that should summit up for you.

April Fools!
Oh. You’re serious.

In the beginning of the expansion, there was a lot of problems from a systematic point of view involving gear acquisition and the maintenance of certain traits on gear. The problem here was that the player was always re-earning the same thing over and over again. In a system designed with the bare bones mentality of “X does more damage” being said in about 40 different ways, 1 of those ways will always be best.

In other words, I am a shadow priest. Chorus of Insanity is my best Azerite trait. Therefore, I (if I wish to do good numbers) must always seek pieces with this trait on it. But in higher forms of content, the only way to actually get such pieces is hope the raid has it, or play the Titan Residuum lotto. Acquiring such traits can be painful. This isn’t even mentioning the fact that there was no such currency in the beginning of the expansion, limiting people on how they could acquire azerite gear even more so.

Then the essence problem. Another systematic issue involving the grinding of something over and over for the sake of having a button be put on your bars that has nothing to do with your class other than how it synergizes with it. And then the cloak grinding. Another system put in place.

In short, BFA suffers from incredible systematic overload. There’s too many systems aiming to cover up for the failures of Azerite, which was the main feature of the expansion. Couple that with things that feel like they’re actively combating the player such as RNG on top of RNG, the inability to help guild mates in guild groups thanks to item level restrictions, the total lack of control involving some progression systems (no PvP vendors), etc. The addition of systems people overall disliked like Islands and Warfronts. It’s just bad juju.

It’s worth noting that BFA is beautiful visually, and the encounter team did a great job like they always do. But the actual lens through which we experience the content this time around was, in my opinion, crappy.

To me, the leveling was OK, but everything after that was pretty meh, at best.

I felt too much depended on rep grinds. I’d rather have a wider variety of ways to progress my character. I’ve hated straight up rep grinds since the days of slaughtering furbolgs in Felwood and Winterspring. I miss, for example, the old rep tabard system.

Then there’s pathfinder (which I loathe with a passion for wrecking replayability for me), the snoozefest warfronts, and the way that everything becomes obsolete every couple months when there’s a patch.

Finally, there’s the feel of the classes. They all feel pretty clunky and boring to me, at least for dps’ing.

I would have to put it this way.

The debate this expac has been which is worse WoD or BfA

No I actually like WoD better but here is the problem I see with both .

WoD was bad because to much content was cut out leaving it as a raid or die expac after 6.2

BfA has plenty of content per say but not all of it good and not all of it actual content.

Aside from regular questing or dungeons and raids which are all fine , what we got were things that turned out to not be so popular and various systems to fill in the gaps.

Things that turned out to not be as popular would have to be Island Expeditions and Warfronts. For an expac advertised as a faction conflict expac they had the potential of making them as possible new expansion based pvp activities but instead they were just scenerios . After doing them a few times for most except for the min /maxers they didn’t feel worth doing .

As for systems we got so many systems that in order to make ones toons feel viable you had to continuously work on them . Some people like to focus on just one toon but others like to work on multiple toons . Some just do a main and some random alts for fun but others do multiple mains depending on what they need to bring to the table or raid or what ever . These systems are not friendly to people with multiple toons.

Another problem with the game now is it has become more of a theme park mmo where you have to follow a set path for progressing your toon as far as gearing , powering up and just basic game play. WHere as in the past it felt more like a sand box mmo where players picked more of their own direction .

As some one said earlier they felt they were spending more time doing what they needed to do and less on what they wanted to do.

TDLR: Sorry about wall

My guild has completely stopped playing except for one night a week we get together and run Wrathion, Carapace and Nzoth for the corruption rresistance and that is all. We just xmog farm old content.

That’s a pretty cool moral high ground you got there bud. Stay safe up there.

Good meme.

You ever seen a company have such awful backlash and money loss to their current product model that they are forced to use time, money, and manpower to completely change it in order to attempt to save their dwindling customer numbers?

Sometimes you just don’t want to lose all your customers.

3-4 days is not really enough time to gauge how good an expansion is. Not to say you still won’t love it months from now, but I did not dislike BFA after 3-4 days (Although I did instantly find the levelling experience a downgrade from Legion and WoD).

For me its the following:-

PVP was never great in this game, but its especially bad now.

Endless microgrinds and busywork. To be even somewhat viable as a casual player, I have to do a lot of chores

The chores I have to do are not fun at all. I loved Legion even though it had become way grindier than WoD/MOP Cata, but it was still fun enough for me to do. BFA’s chores are beyond boring.

TOO MANY ELVES!
Cromgaru has spoken.

The gameplay loop has seriously deteriorated to the point people no longer care about anything the game has or stands for.

It’s like class design. It has the same impact. If a class feels bad to play the expansion isn’t going to be a great experience. The same goes for the gameplay loop.

If the bulk of your time is grinding WQs you’re not playing WoW anymore. People can disagree on that but I don’t care. That’s how I feel about it.

Rep tabards or bust when it comes to Shadowlands.

You missed all the broken systems they had to change to get to this point after 18 months. Your opinion is not relevant pertaining to anytime before you resubbed. Not being mean just saying you were not here for the painful parts.

Hi idk who they make this game for anymore but it isnt me. I have never missed an expansion my longest hiatus was 1 year during cataclysm. Being away that long probably enhanced MOP for me. I haven’t really been impressed since Mop and while Mop had its own set of issues it felt very much like a world of warcraft expansion. Then this game took on some really alien concepts to me.

of all the new systems in place I can only agree that Mythic+ to keep 5 mans relevant and people who dont have time to raid is a pretty good deal. That being said pvp is an absolute mess and there is too much busy work that isnt even fun to do.

People want pvp vendors and pathfinder gone and they wont listen to feedback. Who ever wanted RNG gear drops for pvp? Who’s idea even was that?

The reason why bulk of your time is grinding is becoz you missed a lot of patches… 8.0, 8.1 and 8.2. You are catching up. You are suppose to only grind the current content of 8.3 which is so mild… like few minutes per day grind. But becoz you missed other patches, you are also now grinding all the stuffs from 8.0, 8.1 and 8.2. We had small grinds on each of those patch. But add them all together, it would be a big grind. And becoz it has time gate, it became worse.

Time gate is suppose to give casuals some rest on their grinds allowing casuals to skip some grinds and come back not left behind by those no life players playing 24/7. This time gate has good intentions but to those who got left behind, it would be a pain becoz you cant farm old patch stuffs 24/7 to catch up.

And I dont think Blizz would care for you. You are not playing all the patches and therefore not paying much monthly subs. Why would they care for you? You would be gone again after this patch and reappear again on the last patch of next expansion.

Tldr… BFA grinds is mild. It’s not that much. You feel there’s tons of grind becoz you are grinding for the old patch stuffs that you missed.
