We saw how “nochanges” ended up in vanilla: it gave us raids with 20 dps warriors, people raid logging with world buffs, and 400ms of artificial lag.
We didn’t want to go through that again.

No dual spec should not be a thing. This is one in many changes that take the MMO out of the MMORPG genre. If you want to be master of everything go play skyrim.
Create a need for players to need eachother, don’t allow everyone to be good at everything all the time. Force people into social interactions
You are trying to play wow classic tbc like its a singleplayer game, its not. Its not even a co-op game. It’s an MMO, this is what the MMO genre is supposed to be. If you don’t like it, then its not the game for you. Thats fine, its not for everyone. Go play retail.
Ok, so ally getting seal of blood was a bad change? This would deliberately cause a faction imbalance to Horde, and guess which faction would still be complaining about queues to just pvp? Horde.
Making everyone in a raid have LW for drum stacking, so blizzard gave them a debuff, where’s the “player choice” that people chanted, but somehow that was ok? making EVERYONE be a LW to stack drums on top of drums?
I’m pretty sure I can think of other things, but I’m just going to go with these two things for one reason, min/maxing a CASUAL GAME for both petty and a “race” like mind set. You all soiled what made this game great.
All they really do is improve the engine, similar to how we no longer play on dial up or our old Compaq computers.
#nochanges is tha’away with alexensual’s defunct youtube channel. You’re 2 years too late.
He made another channel? I stopped keeping track when he rage quit and deleted Alexensual.
You’re missing the point. You are making a #NoChanges argument. #NoChanges failed 2 years ago. Many, many changes have been made affecting the integrity of the game. To fight on the #NoChanges hill is absurd, because the precedent has been set by Blizzard that they will make changes, and they have made many changes already.
I’m content playing the game as is but its disappointing that most players and even Blizzard want to change its authenticity.
I’ll play and see how far down the rabbit hole we go, maybe tokens get implemented one day to counter gold buying services outside of the game.
Not saying #NoChanges is good/bad. Just that it’s past that point.
#NoChanges went out the door when they started making mass changes to modernize the game.
Players wanting and even demanding changes is necessary for any version of WoW ‘relived’ to have the original experience.
Because not everything back then was as great as you remember. Some of those things to don’t stand up to the test of time. They learned this multiple times with classic vanilla.
Has nothing to do with what I remember nor do I think it was the best thing since sliced bread.
Tbc was a time before qol features, Vanilla as well. This is the version of the game I enjoy the most for those reasons.
There are aspects of retail that I enjoy but I don’t want those features in a recreation.
#somechanges… yes sounds nice.
For me, I think shadowlands is the worst state the game has ever been in. Lore wise BFA killed the game but shadowlands has rewrote (or expanded to dimensions that feel very jarring to the established identity of the horde), the borrowed power/powerreset has left my favourite class DH feeling very lacklustre (by comparison).
Solo gameplay wise covenants feel restrictive and chore-like in their execution and design wise have 75% of content unavailable to the character is just a big wtf? The Maw is worse than WOD end game. Torghast has no balance between specs/classes, no challenge on replay/outgearing, little variety, an insuitable reward structure… if I could nail down any one thing wrong with SL it would be the reward structures and amount/pace of rewards, the weekly prize for participation just killed my interest in wow… “playing shadowlands is unrewarding, time passing in shadowlands is how rewards are dished out” i.e on a timed basis.
How do you know they didn’t?
Its a lost cause. it is truly sad. The true classic wow experience #nochange went out the door.
people say its better with the changes but people are quitting left and right. I do not remember people being bored 2 weeks into tbc. boost cause this a change added. boost caused the 1 sided race servers. and now blizzard is got a plan in motion to add more $$ services to fix this I am sure.
the community is the most problems with the #Nochange. people have changed. they do not want to be friendly, helpful supportive. its now all mostly bullying and toxic convocations. they do not want to take the time and get to now other people.
Its all about endgame now. that people say is the only reason they play tbc. instead of stopping experience in retail making a raid group. they want to make changes here to do the same thing making it retail bc. they have everything they want in retail. lfg, lfr, transmog, even the turn off experience. that was added to twink or remain the level for the wow aura you wanting to raid.
so slowly but surly we will have 2 retail games there is no stopping it.
If all the other time sinks have been removed, time gating content and rewards is the only thing left to keep people paying the sub fee.
Or add another flashy reskin of a mount to the store and hope people pay $ to keep the lights on at Blizzard.
Maybe they need to switch to a purchasable DLC model.
We want the authentic experience. 15 Years ago in original BC people saw flaws in the game and the forums were constantly full of players requesting changes to fix or alleviate those problems. Are you really surprised that that same authentic experience would happen now? Recreate a good but flawed game and you’re going to recreate the same complaints about the flaws. I don’t get people who want to ruin our authentic experience of complaining about the game and requesting changes especially when they’re almost the same changes we asked for 15 years ago.
Some changes are good, some changes are bad! That’s how it always has been and always will be. You were never going to get the authentic experience for any classic servers because things that “blizzard wishes they could fix” Well, they “fixed” them! Get ready for Wrath classic and the “degenerate” deathknight spec to not be “degenerate” and if mists classic happens no one will be able to play demonology.
