Why do people play on PVE servers?

Than why are you on a be. Lol

Very simple answer:. I want to be able to choose if I PVP. I’d rather not be forced to log off due to someone getting their jollies over stopping me from playing the game via camping and excusing it with herp derp world PVP or worse using the bully excuse of “Well it happened to me so I’m going to do it to others”

That’s really the only reason for me. I want the choice rather than have it forced on me.

I love large world PvP battles(Hillsbrad) and I love BGs.

I don’t love being ganked when I’m out in the world needing to accomplish PvE goals.

It shouldn’t be hard to understand.

To me wow is a pve game. Sure, in 2004 the pvp was great compared to other games on the market, but there are just better options if that is what you are looking for. Personally I don’t see the appeal of any version of wow for someone claiming to be a hardcore PvPer. WPvP in wow is more or less limited to ganking. As someone that doesn’t gank, the only thing I gain from playing on a pvp server is having my time wasted by players who aren’t good enough to play on a real wpvp game.

Just wanted to add that I think WPvP before BGs are released will be far better on PvE servers. I played pservers that had the honor system before BGs, and it mostly consisted of rankers camping flights points and roaming the leveling zones farming lowbies and avoiding the opposite factions rankers. Can’t do that on a PvE server. The rankers will have no option but to fight other rankers at organized Hillsbrad battles.

SS/TM was a near constant thing on my pve server.

PvP is garbage on every level. Why would i want to subject my game play to other peoples whims? Screw PvP.

Forced PVP is annoying as hell.

I still have nightmares about STV.

Say facepalm again, I dare you.

Because they’re a bunch of carebears

well, in modern wow world pvp is pure trash since cata.

But in classic i’ll play rogue on pvp… Yeah.

Shouldn’t you be in School…oops never mind, it’s Saturday.
In today’s lesson: /facepalm is an Emote, NOT a pronounced word.
So you don’t “say” it, hence the backslash command which in game signifies an action.

I prefer to pvp on my terms not some 12 old school boy time…I am a 61 year old Grandma that loves the beat the pants off horde in Battlegrounds…

Correct!
In WoW, getting ganked by High level Players is not fun nor rewarding as there are no penalties.
Come back in Time with me to Old School UO Pre-Trammel where I was a Co-Founder of the most respected Guild in UO called “Fires of Heaven” and we would make you afraid to leave town.
Why?

Because unlike WoW’s PvP, UO’s PvP meant you lost way more than Time running back to your corpse.

THAT was PvP! Wow’s PvP has been and always will be a Joke.

“Fires of Heaven”?

Isn’t that Alex Afrasiabi’s guild?

Back in UO it started off as “Company of the Damned” Damned was a word that was not allowed back then when creating guilds and we were forced to change the name.
I was “Taki” Dread Lady GM Archer. The members back then in 1996 I remember were Famine, RoC, Myrlyn, Warchild.

Lost contact with them when I started Beta in EQ.

Great times.

I like PvP, but prefer PvE servers because I generally quest alone and the game never has been balanced around 1v1 PvP. If I had a regular group of friends to quest with, I’d probably roll PvP.

Other issues are butt-hurt players that often log onto high level mains and grief the crap out of you if you have the nerve to kill their alt.

Also, on PvE you can manually flag yourself if you wish. So, it’s not completely out of the question to roll PvE and still play most of the time as PvP.
