Why do people just lurk in threads liking posts but never commenting?
For many reasons i guess .why you want to know that?
9/10, clever attempt to farm likes.
The lurkers see all.

Iâm just curious really
You should have been here when we had dislikes.
You never saw me.

I often lurk and like in threads simply because I may not have anything to add. Itâs also pretty easy to comment the wrong way and get your head bitten off.
Or suspended. Again. Always. For nothing.
What Thorland said, I read threads and if something was said that was thoughtful/insightful, funny (if pertinent to the thread) etc⊠I will like it, but if I have nothing to add then there is no point in commenting just to comment
I will like a post if I agree with someone. I donât necessarily need to add to a thread with the same message if someone else already said something I like. I hope that made sense.
Cause Iâm bored at work. I have the time to read and like, but not comment on every topic.
Iâm also willing to bet some people will throw likes out at random to maintain their trust level on the forums. I do it for some of mine. I also will like a reply that someone else beat me to, or put more eloquently than I could.
Liking things is faster. Sometimes thereâs just nothing to say.
If I happen to agree with what someone else said and donât have anything original myself to add, Iâll give them a heart and be on my way. I donât need to respond to every single thing that pops up on the forums.
I have nothing to contribute to this topic, but would be weird to be a lurker, given the subject matter.
Mostly because I can.
What I donât understand is why some lurkers without an active subscription roam the forums.

Ugh! Definitely this.
Same. Thatâs what happens with me a lot.

i think of " likes " as " agreement button " on serious posts.
Like when i pass by a high elf/flying thread and i see what i was thinking already. i just hit that button. like a " ya, agreed with you there "
