Personally, I like the Horde because thats where the Forsaken are. I think they have by far the best story and lore.
If the Forsaken were their own third faction, that’s where I’d be.

I enjoy both factions a great deal. I like the characters on all sides, yes even Trade Prince Gallywix, Nathanos and Sylvanas. Everyone brings something to the table to make a fairly good story in game. I even like the bad guys in some cases, like the two headed Ogre, some of the Legion bad guy cast and other expansion.
Special note to Gul’dan. About the only bad guy\character I enjoyed disliking. It was the first time I specifically went into a raid to kill something with intent. Blizzard did a bang up job painting him as truly really a bad guy. Maybe it was seeing the movie or they a lot of time to develop. My hat is off to Gul’dan, may he rest in torment.

Yeah, Gul’dan was one of the original Old Guards of villainy. Though I hated him in WoD, at least we got a satisfying conclusion of stomping his guts out in Nighthold. Though to be fair, his Mythic boss fight was very harsh as it should be.
The Horde is hands-down the more interesting of the two factions. It also has the superior community.
Still don’t understand how they went from the war hardened badasses from WCIII:TFT to the wimps in WoW.
It’s like whoever made them never touched the previous material.
Alliance is boring and SW looks like a Disney park
I think I chose Horde because I view the Horde as an organization of outcasts. And I’ve felt like an outcast for most of my life, so I was easily able to relate to them as characters. Besides, they just look really cool. /moo
Right? The better question is why do people like Alliance? Not only are they boring af but half their races come off as arrogant and pretentious… but not in a fun way like BE.
It’s simple really, the alliance is boring and not as good as you think…
And they don’t even know the full story … classic example the horde withdrawal at the beginning of Legion because they got trapped between 2 armies . The alliance players only say aw the withdrawal and think the horde ‘betrayed’ them …
Horde runs every storyline , Alliance reacts .
I can handle jedi in SWTOR to a certain extent as I could pick all the dirtbag responses and go dark. The whole “may the force be with you” thing made me want to puke. In wow you can’t really do that. You get to be smarmy and pretentious no matter what. Horde at least you can feel its ok to giggle when you’re told to KILL ALL THE THINGS.
While I like both sides, and play both sides, I find I do have to hold my nose more on Alliance quests. They are a bit too goodie twoshoes or their holier than thou justification for why they have to go out and murder all the floofs is a bit of a reach.
I like the Horde because of their struggle. Humans and their allies are stereotypical and have been played out many times before.
I am fully against Sylvanus as warchief. The Horde Saurfang wants back, is the Horde I love. I hope Sylvanus dies in a fire.
Been a horde player since vanilla tryed some Alliance with some friends but they all lost interest so I just went back to what I knew. Was so lost in Stormwind trying to find things, was like screw it I’m going back to Org lol.
Oh right. Orcs aren’t a stereotype at all in so many works of fantasy. Nor blood elves… Nope. Oh and forsaken, those definitely aren’t repetitive and overused.

The only thing kind of unique on the horde side MAYBE are the trolls and tauren. Trust me, horde isn’t some special, rocker, hard core misunderstood group of misfits that just need a hug like everyone seems to think.
Why do people like the Horde? No idea. Some people just want to watch the world burn.
I’ve never been able to understand why people think of the horde as the underdogs. The desperate band that is held together in order to survive. Generally speaking, the underdogs who are worried about being wiped out don’t antagonize the one they’re afraid of being destroyed by. Every conflict in WoW is started by the Horde.
I’ve seen a lot of Hordies complain about how Garrosh and Sylvanas’ actions weren’t “my horde”. The thing to remember in the overarching history of the Horde is that Thrall’s honorable Horde is the anomaly, not the rule. Sylvanas is really just returning them to their roots. Same thing, different dictator.
Biggest reason I hate the Horde though is just the community. I tried rolling a blood elf back in BC, and my first intro to the faction was an orc player running around the starting zone spamming emotes and screaming at all the newly rolled blood elves to “GTFO my faction alliance noobs!1!!11!” Wasn’t much better by level 40, so I just deleted the toon and went Alliance instead.
THE SHOULDER PADS!!
Seriously have you seen shoulder pads on the horde? Massive! Except blood elves, but our bodies make up for it.
Because their fun to gank.
Space goats
Best lore

We’re here to take over Azeroth once you fools have killed each other. The Alliance hasn’t realized that we’re playing the long con yet.
Because I’m not following an emo man-child who doesn’t understand battle tactics and orders men to their deaths in like every … single… battle… and only manages to retain leadership when other heroes stop up to save them from his bad decisions.
