Why do people hate on mechagnomes

They’re loud because those who don’t have an issue are not being loud.
I get where you’re coming from, but it just isn’t one of those 1 to 1 situations.

The Loud are saying what they don’t like, and the not loud aren’t saying anything. Whether they agree or disagree is mute. It means you’re only hearing one side.

Flawed data is only as good as how flawed it is. I mean we can tell for sure that Vulpera are more popular than Mechagnomes quite likely from that data, but that doesn’t show if anyone gives a flying hoot about it. For all we know the ones not playing them fall into the Don’t Care category more than into the Hate Them category. The data isn’t enough to prove anything useful.

You are only hearing one side because of one of two reasons. The mute either agree with the loud, and have nothing else to add because they deem such statements to be common knowledge. Or they have no opinion on the matter.

However, if their opinion is opposing the loud, they are likely to be nearly if not just as loud in opposition, much like the even smaller amount of people that defend gnomes and junker gnomes.

Plus its also important to remember one big thing. Only like 1% of the playerbase actually uses the forums and much less their discords. The majority of Vulpera players aren’t even playing because of some agenda and the people who would be inclined to hate them are those who were actively promoting something that they didn’t get.

And the best data is worthless if people discard it.

There are people here. Right now. Telling you that we care.

We care that mechagnomes are a very ordinary AR, and that Vulpera are not.
We care the Kul’tirans are unpopular, and Zandalari Trolls are not.

The Alliance deserves to have nice things too and the devs have failed at every. single. turn to deliver on anything that wasn’t ultimately mediocre or worse.

It’s very simple: The devs need to do better delivering Alliance content.

They have horde content down cold. They could deliver quality horde content blindfolded.

They need to do the same for the Alliance.

which are apart of a .001% minority. Ya know. It is possible for mechagnome supporters to get together a whole bunch of people to constantly comment on stuff on the forums. If we wanted to, we could easily make you guys look like the minority on these forums.

And me and others are here telling you the opposite opinion.

They do, and I think they have some nice things. I don’t begrudge you thinking otherwise.

As I said my issue is with folk being jerks to the players who think otherwise. Beyond that I’m sharing my opinion which happens to be in opposition to your own.

You see the hyprocrisy in this? He is telling us to stop defending what we love, yet he thinks its okay for him to continue spreading this tripe unchallenged.

Yeah. They would prefer we didn’t contend their claims that no one likes Mechagnomes despite the community actively growing around mechagnomes. Lol

Yeah that’s pretty true

I know it’s not quite the same but it’s the same in spirit. Lol

Corrected that for you. :robot:

I see more mechagnomes all the time. I think the main reason they are rare is they’ve only been available since 8.3, and no doubt relatively few people managed to complete the reqs so they had them on patch day. I remember getting VE back in legion and feeling somewhat rare, now they are everywhere, probably the most common AR.

One of the things people need to keep in mind about mechagnomes is that, granted, they are a subrace. But so is every other AR, even the “totally new” Kul’Tirans and Zandalari are just subraces of humans and trolls with different proportions.

Mechagnomes are part machine. That’s utterly unprecedented in this game, and since I already have a gnome mage (and gnome mage was the very first character I played) it wasn’t a far stretch, it really took seeing the model to convince me though. From the moving gears on the joints to the utter crispness of the model itself, well, if people don’t like them it probably says more about people just not liking gnomes than anything else. If Vulpera had been, say, Gilgoblins, people would likely be saying the same stuff.

This was my third AR, my second totally intentional one (I just sort of got lightforged while grinding VE). I do dislike that process and am glad I both have no capped horde characters so getting their races is off the table, and I wouldn’t play a Kul’Tiran so I’m good without them.

What made me do the ARs despite not totally enjoying the experience of getting them was that, unlike say pathfinder, you have them forever. I can make as many characters of that race as I want until the game shuts down. If pathfinder unlocked even just all the zones available now (ie BfA pathfinder would unlock Draenor and Legion) I’d be ever so slightly more likely to do it. But I digress. I don’t regret my ARs at all at the end of the day, and void elves burned me out so bad I quit playing for several months after capping my first VE. It was just too strenuous to grind on a BE shadow, then raise up a new shadow that looked almost identical. Not the best thought out process, I ground this race on an alt that will likely serve no other purpose, it’s weird you need to play with a character you may not even really like or want anymore just to get to the character you do. I do know people who’ve quit over it, and believe me I wish they were still around, this game with RL friends has always been where it, well, was at.

I can’t be bothered to unlock them. I just think they are ugly and getting revered for pathfinder was enough of that place for me.

I’ll be honest, they creep me out a bit.
I’ve played a Gnomish Engineer who is a Warlock for ease of access to fel energies to aid in her research into powerful, compact energy sources to fuel her designs. I’ve done so for the better part of 15 years.

So when I look at the MechaGnomes in the character creation screen I can see nothing but quadruple amputees and their helpless little armless & legless torsos bouncing around helplessly. shudder

As for what could improve them? More customization options. Their limbs are mechanical, so that opens up the option of wheels or tracks instead of legs or crazy outsized bitz like twice as long legs and arms for no apparent reason than the gnome in question has an inferiority complex when dealing with taller species.

I don’t hate I just don’t like them. If has to plan in creating a gonme, I prefer the normal one. :grinning: :grinning: :grinning: :grinning:

Ugly.
