Why do people celebrate removing abilities, and making the game easier?

Once again, 80 year old streamer dude doing Wildstar raids just fine. Stop making excuses.

Yea, it’s one of the most cringe things from the community.

They think they’re special when a pure STR and colossus weapon build is better in almost every single way, or they play the DEX build which is just as strong as the STR build, but it’s INT that is the issue

Do it and let us know.

I’m Master as 2189 rating on Street Fighter 6, if you want to flex. Come try to own me, Juri is main, my steam is Pulptenks, you want to brag about skills, let’s go at it then. Pure fighting, no gimmick, that’s how gamers solved it back in my days and I’ll hold to that.

I’m trash at fighting games, but I’ll game some Melee with you. I main Marth <3

The audacity to complain about mages in Elden Ring… but mains Marth

I’d say yes if I had a Switch over a switch light. I have no way to wire it, I went with the cheaper options to play locally since nintendo server are pretty mediocre.

Shhh, don’t judge me while I’m judging you. Rude. :stuck_out_tongue:

I love you all. Mage or not. Elden DLC though…eh? EH? SO SOON.

Wildstar rotation doesn’t have the complexity like wow does. You don’t have to track buffs to know when to do a long cast pyroblast and the like of it. That’s not a good comparison you’re doing there, comparing a dead game to a lively game.

Okay, but the game was “so hard that everyone quit.” And apparently old people are extra unable to do WoW gameplay which is mindless… so why can some 80 year old dude play Wildstar and do the dungeons and raiding just fine?

Sounds like it has nothing to do with rotation, sounds like the game was scaled in a way that made it incredibly difficult… doesn’t change the fact that some WOW classes are keybind bloated.

Wildstar just died because it was bad and underwhelming. Doesn’t mean a few handful of people like it and run a private server that doesn’t beat 130 users online since the past 3 years that it’s any relevant. The devs who made it also were stuck on a wotlk mindset when they designed the combat, it’s nothing ground breaking.

Wildstar died because whiny babies cried about dungeons being too hard, and attunement being impossible.

Later on after it was all nerfed, they still cried and wouldn’t come back to the game because it was still too hard.

After that, there was a big content drought, and people just slowly left.

PvPers also hated it, but PvPers are a tiny minority in every MMO.

Though I do agree the class design was abysmal.

Because I have ~35 keybinds just to play Demon Hunter. There are too many abilities. Yes, midwits will rage and say there are 2-button classes but the fact is that if you want to play with any reasonable level of skill you must have every single non-redundant ability bound to a key and easily accessible. There are just too many. Even if most of them aren’t core rotational abilities you still need keybinds for them.

That’s not even getting into the stuff like pots, healthstones, the extra action button, markers, pings, etc.

The button bloat is insane. If they cut 5-10 buttons off of every class it would make the game much more approachable and much less irritating to play, and you probably could do it with minimal changes to core rotations.

I have the entire left side of my keyboard bound, including shift+ binds for all of them, and I even use a Reddragon keypad so I can get N and P accessible as well. That’s to say nothing of all my mouse buttons and their shift+ binds. I use more keybinds for wow than my buddy does in his million dollar naval aviator simulator the military uses to train pilots. To be clear it’s the Navy’s simulator, not his, but if a game is more complicated than flying a training aircraft maybe it’s time to scale things back.

Uh, do you have everything keybound thrice over?

No, they are all individual keybinds. I’m obviously including generic keybinds like healthstone, healthpot, etc (those are actually macro’d into one) but I have every ability bound.

123456
qert + shift binds for each
fg + shift binds for each
zxcvb + shift binds for C, V, and B
np + shift binds for both
F1 and F2 for battle pots
Then I have mouse 3 and 4 + shift binds (interrupts, dispel, imprison, fel eruption)
oh, and I press mouse wheel to bring up the ping system.

I can spell out the entire thing if you want. It’s 33 total keybinds, so 2 under my estimate of 35. Two of those are a Focus Target key and a boss-specific macro key (such as for Smolderon) so if you don’t want to count those it drops it to 31.

That’s still absurdly too many. Classes should have 15-20, tops.

Edit: nvm, it’s 37. I didn’t count my battle pots or my Z-key binds for sigil of misery, fel eruption, and the extra action button.

DH has like 10 abilities total, how can you have 37 binds?

I just find that people - like you, are incredibly naive if they blindly worship others, especially if said others are simply in positions of authority without actually doing anything that earns them that authority.

Clearly, based on everything you have said so far, it seems you judge the character of people based on purely what they say and what kind of impression they give you, rather than their actions. Which is the naivete I am calling you out for.

I judge people by their actions, not by their words, or their superficial charisma. What they actually do, and do to others, is far more important and reflective of their character. And for people with higher authority, I hold them to a higher standard that befits their station.

And time and time again, it has been shown that the police, with all their authority, abuse their authority and station to abuse the community. What they need is oversight, checks and balances, not blind worship of the sort you are doing here.

“Look, I can do magic with my keyboard/mouse and bind 135 abilities!”
“Do you use all of them?”
“Well, no, I have to stick to my rotation or I’ll lose DPS, but they are there!”

This 100%. Having to use this many keybinds to feel like you are giving your max contribution in a dungeon or raid is ridiculous. I miss the days where you could fit most stuff onto 1 12 button action bar.
