why do you keep strawmanning the f!ck out of everything i say? i never said how people play video games dictates how they approach their lives, i said that the same way that people strive due to incentives in real life are mirrored in the digital world, its not a hard concept to grasp, sheesh.

and yes, other people getting geared off trivial content does in fact trivialize other peoples “hard work”…refer back to my original point, is raiding and high end content fun due to challenge? yea sure, but fun from challenge isn’t the sole incentive, one of the incentives is the gear you attain, to make your character more powerful, if you allow that process to happen through more trivial means, the harder content naturally loses its luster.

I haven’t used any strawman arguments. By all means, keep up the mental gymnastics. You really should stop trying to compare it to real life, though. In case you’re curious about why I respond this way, just remember, I was responding to what you said. It’s a video game. A toy. Stop worrying about Blizzard’s decisions when it comes to which content rewards what item levels and you won’t sound so ridiculous.
