This is so backwards.
You lose money crafting it if you buy the mats.
So what’s the point in being an alchemist?
It seems the bots set the herb prices higher on purpose because you can’t farm the herbs yourself and now you can’t make gold crafting either with herbs from the AH.
This is sickening.
We need herb/ore etc on the badge vendor to bypass the bots who have destroyed this economy.
If Blizzard doesn’t want to ban them at least make them irrelevant.

Blame the thousands of bots farming up all the herb nodes, hoarding the, and trickling them into the auction house to keep the prices so high…

Why blizzard needs to release the marks of illidari that can be used to buy flasks from a vendor sooner rather than later.
Or ban the bots but yeah - its been 25 years and they still havent figured it out.

But see wouldnt more herbs bring prices down?
Whenever they drop the bots buy them all and put them back at a higher price.

A reasonable answer is why would there be any profit in professions on a mega server? There are tons of alchemists with the same recipes. Even stuff on cooldown doesn’t bring that much profit, maybe 10g a day or so.
Because there should also be normal people selling lots of herbs bringing those prices down but they never go down a certain amount because the bots don’t let it.
Being an alchemist is pointless.
It shouldn’t be worthless like it is now. You should be able to at least make some money with your mastery.
It’s pretty ignorant to think a profession being useless is a normal thing.
I also think some alchs are trying to offload just in case marks do come out - usually flasks go down about half in price but it takes a few weeks to see it
Cuz this versions economy is actually fried.
Just implement a system like the crate vendor in sod that you could buy with badges/spirit shards/etc. It’ll increase the supply of mats for professions while increasing game play for dungeons. Instead of increasing just spawns for bots. Keep it for the players not the bots.

Because elixir masters are willing to sell in the “I will lose money with bad procs, but make money on average” range.
That’s where I’m at.
Add when I craft 40 pots and get 2 procs only for 2 total extra pots I create a thread like this.
there is not enough nodes for the number of people on these realms. thats the gist of it.
Remember, Terocone was buffed way ahead of launch on the PTR. For some unknown reasons, they did not buff any other node, especially the big ones like MANA THISTLE, which are 21g each still.
It genuinely makes 0 sense on why Terocone was the only buffed node.
Was far cheaper last tbc.
Anni potions are like 3x the price of TBC Classic.
And yet terocone goes up to outrageous prices.
Don’t act like any of this is normal.
It isn’t.
It’s bots controlling it.
Banning GDKPs did nothing for the economy.

you make the money from the procs and not when you just get 1.
i know its stupid.
But you don’t.
Right now 1 flask is a -10g profit.
So if you make 5 and dont get a proc you just lose 50g lol.
The prices are dumb. It doesn’t make sense to lose so much gold. Terocone went up by like 30% the past 2 weeks. Felweed as well.
i was saying you only make profit on the procs if they are more than the amount you made.
its stupid.

Agreed, lets all go Engi and just rocket boost through SSC invis through TK and big boom nuke adds in both! #winning
The “it’s always been that way” is a ridiculous position. They’ve made a ton of changes for this version of TBC, there’s nothing stopping them from making more. Professions are largely worthless right outside of cosmetics now and it should be addressed. Because people can’t make gold in professions, they try other things like farming dungeons which gets nerfed. How about increase spawn rates to lower the cost of materials? Or add a materials crate that can be bought with badges or honor?
