Why do DPS think their job is Damage and THEN consider maybe moving out of bad

Whatever you say toxic elitist senior

You’re cute. Never change :kissing_heart:

Long as the forums keep making it so easy i never will :kissing_heart:

touch of karma ftw :sunglasses:

Well as much as I’d love to say this is true every group I’m in if I’m dodging a mechanic to STAY ALIVE I’m told that I lost 0.5 seconds of DPS and to do better so a lot of people just pray the healer is good enough to not dodge mechanics then everyone cries because either the tank didn’t do his job, the healer couldn’t do theirs or the DPS couldn’t stay alive. All depends on who points the finger first. Don’t you love wow culture?

Don’t worry. Happens in 20+ keys too.

I guess if I’m 80% done casting something, I’m going to stay still and finish that and then move, unless it’s a one shot mechanic of course.

At the end of the day, if we all played like we were toilet trained at gunpoint, healers would have nothing to do lol

Okay, I rescind my statement, I’m used to lower keys so I didn’t think much of the little ones.
Also that person’s name… yikes, I didn’t even notice it last night.

Dying is a dps loss

That is healers or tanks fault :stuck_out_tongue:

ā€œMoving out of badā€ is such an old school thing. New school Blizzardā„¢ is all about miscellaneous raid-wide AoE Damage.

Boss not hard enough? miscellaneous raid-wide AoE Damage
Need something for healers to do? miscellaneous raid-wide AoE Damage
Need to make a dungeon intense? miscellaneous raid-wide AoE Damage

That’s basically what kills everyone. Should we have this boss just do pulsing groupwide aoe damage for reasonsā„¢? How about these trash mobs with no threat table explode for group wide aoe damage?

Your dps are probably getting cleaved down by unavoidable miscellaneous raid-wide AoE Damage and they don’t have enough defensives to handle it.

God I love being elemental. Low damage, no defensives and less healing than a warrior. Love this game!

I look at this way.

I’m not a pro, just a gamer playing a game.

My DPS performance on trash packs as melee is 100% dependent on the tank positioning the packs in a predicable way so I can unload. If the tank does not do this, I need to avoid ground bads, AoE bads, Cleave Bads, and my DPS goes into the toilet. If the tank is a moron and randomly zig zags in no predicable chain line, my DPS goes into the toilet, and If the tank fails to control the pack and everything is spread out with casters all over (bad tank on NO hills packs or 1st room of RLP)… we have to defensives… my DPS goes into the toilet.

A perfect example is a Tank I play with sometimes… . Every time he gathers up the pack, I get in position, I wait a second to ensure he’s not moving… and blow my Spear macro which dumps everything, THEN… he pulls the pack away… EVERY TIME! I love the guy, but hes never timed anything unless carried, hes done hundreds of runs, he just refuses to learn, refuses to change, refuses to realize he just caused us to not time because every time I could be doing 200k DPS I’m only doing 30k… (and there’s more, but this is the important part of the example lol)

On the flip side, I used to die in a blaze of glory so I could pump 200k+ on a pack, face eating the bad because it was the only way… now I just hover at 40-50k because I refuse to die anymore for no reason… the death costs 10 seconds plus whatever loss on DPS, so better to just be consistent and not dead imo.

Further, once your in the Dungeon it doesn’t matter because if you leave it’s bricked. (meaning, dont worry that you are on trial and if you dont perform you will get kicked or somthin…)

So yea, my point? Be a good tank for your DPS, especially your Melee. The better YOU do, the easier and faster the run.

SO asking seriously here, do you, as a Tank, even think about how you are making the run for your DPS or are you just ā€œoh I gotta grab everything and herp derpā€
