Elitist players are almost invariably mediocre and complain about other mediocre players to maintain their sense of superiority, real or imagined. This makes them mad and they rage about elitism, reinforcing the elitists’ contempt for ‘filthy casuals’. They’re just two sides of the same complainsmithing coin that nobody outside of their bubble really notices or cares about.
