Why do blood elves have light skin

How could I forget!

Humans, I think (In World of Warcraft at least), got their skin tone through breeding and maybe like how humans in our world did. Sure, they have light skin but they can also have many different types of skin tones and still be paladins / priests along side warlocks and shadow priests.

But don’t other species, not just humans, have light skin colors in darker environments?

Take this, for example

Afaik, Night Elves have a dark skin because they descend from dark trolls. It’s genetics, the same way a black man won’t get any lighter (perhaps a bit but not much) by avoiding the sunlight like a vampire.

On the other hand, regarding Thalassian elves:

”Sunstrider led the high elven fleets across the world for many long years. Their goal was to find places of considerable ley power for them to build their new homeland. After landing on the Lordaeron continent, they moved inland and formed a settlement in the Tirisfal Glades. After a few years, however, many were driven insane. The belief at the time was that something evil slept beneath the Glades, so the high elves abandoned the region and moved northwards. They wandered the land for years.

Around this time, they had become completely severed from the life-giving energy of the Well of Eternity. This meant that they were vulnerable to the elements and had not received immortality from Nozdormu and the World Tree. They had shrunk in height and their skin had become a peach hue similar to most dwarves and humans”

If you ask me, I totally think some old God beneath Tirisfal Glades cursed them (something similar to the curse of flesh), which led to their physical changes. But that’s totally personal headcanon.

Sure, in our world, but World of Warcraft isn’t our world and it behaves differently. Some things might be the same while others are different.

That’s a shame ):

Interesting. So the tree, which still isn’t blessed by Nozzy :p, keeps us night elves dark? Cool. I guess it does help us camoflague and better ambush the Horde

Ok.

Yeah. Who knows, maybe now that the tree no longer works, Night Elves will evolve like Thalassian elves and we’ll finally get something that looks like High Elves in the Alliance :joy:

Thought you guys ate a lot of prunes.

We still have Alextrasza’s and Ysera’s blessings rhoz right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe ^.^

Maybe once per decade.

Sometimes we eat old people from other races (i.e. Humans, Orcs etc) as a means of population control

Once they hit 30 ooh boy it’s on.

Don’t touch me then.

Youre just still troll colored. Night Elves evolved from Trolls around the Well of Eternity, particularly Dark Trolls (which are distinctly darker and can be seen in WC3 and more recently Speaker Ik’nal is from a Dark Troll tribe), Highborne got lighter and lighter skinned as the magical influence evolved them further and further away from their Troll lineage.

Your time has come old man Hawkéns :skull_and_crossbones::skull::skull_and_crossbones: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It’s almost like both races aren’t human or something.

I promise you if you start pulling at loose threads in the sweater that is warcraft lore you will not have anything to wear when you’re done
