Why did you PreOrder? (please read before posting)

I think their point is there are other threads for complaints.

I have not pre-ordered. Mainly because I just spent several thousand dollars this week keeping my dog alive. The pre-order will be there for a long time and it can wait for a while.

I do like the battle pets and the mount that is offered. Though the transmogs aren’t as inspiring to me.

What happened? I’m an avid dog person.

At the moment I’m on the fence. I just had a bunch of expenses ($488 vet bill was one) so I wouldn’t buy it now even if I were eager to. The expansion isn’t coming for a while yet, so I might pre-order in a few months. We’ll see.

Then they should have titled it " why are you preOrder ".

So you like to chase M+ score to take a dump on people who aren’t good enough for your standards?

the only preorder exclusive bonus is just a battle pet, not really interested in that.

I’ll probably just wait for prepatch for the evoker.

I hope everything is okay with the pupper now. Totally understand the expenditure.

He developed pancreatitis over the weekend. Luckily, we were able to get him to a 24-hour vet hospital before it progressed too far.

I have no idea what that title change would do. Makes no sense.

Anyways, the title also direct you to read the thread and says this:

Ditto. I have spent thousands of dollars on my dog too when she was ran over by a cow.

I wish him all the luck. Hope he gets well soon.

Pre ordering is for suckers. -sincerely a game designer.

Thanks to you both. He seems to be recovering and is laying at my feet right now.

I know you’re not talking to be specifically but since I am preordering I’m going to respond: this is implying that I don’t know what I’m doing by preordering. I know the xpac might be crap. I know it might be delayed. I’m doing it anyways because I want the mount and pets. These are items I can enjoy now and even if the xpac sucks and/or delayed.

Cool :call_me_hand:t2:

Pre-order culture seems so engrained in a lot of people. In the case of WoW I think it has a very loyal fanbase that knows they won’t be playing any other game in any serious capacity so they are just trying to decide what version is worth pre-ordering. If you’re an avid lover of the game I get it to an extent, but I don’t agree with the concept of pre-ordering in a day and age where there is a limitless supply of downloads, which is why Blizzard, and other companies, had to start finding ways to make pre-orders valuable in some other way.

Their perks are setup moderately nefariously too I might add, and you can anecdotally see this in the thread. There are more hits for people talking about how they got the epic edition whereas I only see one person saying they bought heroic. Why? Because when you compare base versus heroic you see that heroic comes with all those extra in-game goodies and a boost valued at $60 for only $20 more, and you probably want one or both of these things. If you’ve gotten on board with the heroic edition the next step is to see that there’s 30 days of gametime up for grabs, which is a $15 value, which means epic gives you another handful of things for only $5 more! In reality they just got you to go from a $50 purchase to a $90 one.

The best way I can say it is I just see pre-purchasing as anti-consumer. They create virtual goods to sell you that have little to no cost to them to create the illusion of a good deal to you. All data I have ever seen reported points to WoW subs in the decline, but WoW has never been more profitable.

I wonder why that is.

No. They haven’t sold me on the expansion yet.

No, but I will. I’ve been subbed this whole time ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’ll be here when the servers shut down
