Why did you break unit frames too?

Fair enough, but you’re glossing over the details. There are at least 3 very different situations I can think of, which all have very different responses:

1. Blizzard intentionally broke the features you’re looking for.
2. Blizzard unintentionally broke the features you’re looking for.
3. The features are still there, but add-on authors need to change their implementation to adjust.

If 1, you’re dead in the water. If 2, isn’t there an alpha forum to report bugs? If 3, you’ve got the wrong audience entirely.

Midnight is 5 months away - and most of the addon authors are still not allowed to have access to the API but they are allowed to do the alpha.

And ESO for PC allows extensive customization with addons separate from the Xbox version.

I’ll give the op the benefit of the doubt. I don’t have access to the alpha, or any of the API changes, but I am curious as to what Blizzard is intentionally banning.

Also we are in initial stage of Alpha with all the addon authors testing Alpha.

We just don’t know the extent of what Blizzard will allow or not allow.

If you were serious, shouldn’t you actually be posting this on the alpha forums ?

No details have been given to gloss over. So I’m not following.

1. We don’t know that it was intentionally broken.
2. We don’t know that it was unintentionally broken.
3. It’s not the addon creators’ issue, as was said by the SUF author.

This is about bringing attention to what’s not functional in Alpha right now. And pointing out that they said they’re working on it— this is to make sure they are aware that unit frame addons of all sorts are non functional right now so that we can get it fixed.

All unit frame addons and healing addons are currently non functional in Alpha. They said they’re working on fixing what is and isn’t black boxed. But this is to bring attention to the fact that even basic unit frame addons don’t work to even move or resize or anything right now.

at this point i just hope they completely remove the UI to truly level the playing field.

World of Warcraft, Skyrim style. No UI at all but a compass at the top of the screen and a small health/mana bar.

So shouldn’t you be waiting till you have beta access to actually give feedback ? All the Alpha invites have direct access to Game devs discord. they also dont need to even visit the forum.

why rage bait the community and stir the pot when - (1) no addon authors have access to internal addon API but they are all invited to the Alpha.

2 - we are like 5 months away.

3 - Do you think MICROSOFT wants this as a headline during launch - Top MMO game is not friendly to disabled players and removes all addons & accessibility customization ?

Absolutely not. By the time the Beta is out many things are too far along to be changed. Don’t need to be in the Alpha to see how many problems there are.

Because they can’t or won’t… every time they try to replicate an addon in game it’s a disaster.

People are upset with the lack of customization.
People are upset how the healing addons made their game easy. and how the base UI may make keeping track of buffs and debuffs diffcult.

But blizzard has said the game is going to be much more simpler - not sure why we would need all these complicated addons.

Cooldown manager was lacking for a while, and still is according to a fair number of people. Blizzard has a track record that has made many lose trust.

Yeah, all I can say with regard to click to heal being removed (fwiw I don’t think it is) is: There is no way in hell I would ever play this game again if they actually did that.

Know what hasn’t been touched or updated since it launched? The new UI editor. I still can’t move, resize or change half the stuff I can with addons.

It’s tricky because some of it is not just cosmetic. For example, changing the color of the unit frame when some debuff is there is both an advantage compared to base UI and is also common for unit frame replacements. Blizzard’s goal is that there shouldn’t be any advantage to using addons compared to the base UI.
