idk sounds op /s
Thought so.
What’s your point, then? Nobody has been able to point out an advantage of this? Right off the top of my head I can tell you an advantage is clearing up the frame of clutter and making more room for debuff tracking.
On my rdruid, I have disabled HP entirely in favor of a completely empty box. I can track the myriad of HoTs they have with a clean frame.
I am really, really going to miss being able to make my frames black that fill with class colors as people get hurt. It was such a game changer for me not having great eye sight to be able to do that because bright colors, surprise surprise, are VERY easy to notice visually (basic ui design, movement, bright colors, flashing, etc). Not being able to whitelist/blacklist stuff and move around the buffs is going to be crippling too. I think I have like 5 or 6 different things that pop up on the default frames when I cast one spell on someone as disc, and it’s insane trying to pick atonement out of the mess.
Healers are also stuck with affix duty, contributing DPS, interrupting, positioning, and utilities.
This is my major issue right now with the in game version. They need to split up both dispel-able and non dispel-able debuffs, add in a way to scale up the things, add in a way to ignore custom debuffs, and add in some kind of border around dispel-able debuffs ( or bars change colors when a dispel-able debuff is present ).
The base UI right now is horrible for showing that kinda stuff and it will just be a bigger issue once we are all forced into this in midnight if they cant get it working/fixed.
Yeah, andl osing the ability to move the debuffs off to the right of the party frames then make them HUGE is another big hit. That made the affix stuff so much easier to handle :(. That and all the mobs that start a debuff as part of their channel, dots, etc that may as well be invisible on the default frames given their size and position in the clutter.
…Except those numbers are not where the debuffs are.
I am talking about the Player Frame health numbers.
There is no tactical advantage to formatting them. It just looks more pleasing.
You’re in the same boat I was when I entered this thread.
“Unit frames” to me are the player & target frame, but someone told me we are talking about party frames here.
Oh it’s okay, they’re taking resto druid’s interrupt too, so we won’t have to worry about tracking HoTs or interrupting anything, we’ll just have to smile and take it like priests, except without as many shields and ST heals to make up for it. ![]()
Citing “we are reducing your HoTs on all targets to a limit of five because we can’t make our default UI work with more HoTs than that” while also ignoring that the default UI tracks HoTs that do not need to be tracked, such as symbiotic bloom. Lol.
Unfortunately, and I say this as someone who pretty much only plays WoW, this might be the end for me, and a lot of other people.
A calculated risk in an attempt to expose the game to new players who don’t want an MMO genre at this point, could risk the entire franchise. It’s crazy they are actually trying this, and it’s not going to end well.
I guess I am confused too now… I thought “Unit Frames” meant:
Player, Target, TargetOFTarget, Focus, Pet, Party, Raid, Arena
Same, and it does. But I guess people were on different pages lol
Unit frames refers to all units: all party or raid members, our own character, target, focus, target of target, pets, etc.
It’s all encompassing. ![]()
I legitimately dont think I could play resto druid in modern wow without at least some customizations to the frames. Disc priest has similar issues because there’s so many mini procs and stuff as part of flash heal and other casts on targets that obfuscate atonements. They really went deep with hots.
Ok, just wanted to be clear. It wasn’t super clear if that’s how most people understood “Unit Frames” as. Thank You for the clarifications.
Isn’t this what blizzard is trying to streamline? Over-reliance on add-ons so you don’t need fancy frames to track 30 different things.
Doesn’t work that way for healers as it stands on both the alpha and live. They’ve done plenty of work to rotations, but done basically no work on the raid frames, and that’s what we’re talking about in this particular case.
They still, given the talent changes as they are, have an awful lot of things to track on raid frames for several healers including resto druid. Maybe a couple things less, but that doesn’t solve the issue of the default frames being terrible at it to the point where I don’t think I could do it personally with any level of efficiency.
I forgot English isn’t your first language, apologies.
Saying something that is in progress “will be” something does not imply that it is that something at precisely this moment.
Like if your mom told you that “we will be getting pizza tonight” and you said “And yet we don’t have pizza right now.” you would be saying something pretty silly.
It clearly must not be yours since you managed to not understand the phrase “right now” that’s been used over and over again.
Apologies if you dislike people wanting to bring attention to things that are broken right now and want to make sure that they are on the radar to be looked into as the API changes are made through Alpha.
Apology accepted.
I also never told anyone to stop giving feedback. Although GD might not be the best place, I never told anyone to stop.
