the healer is garbage again lol like what is with the bias with tuning where things like warr/ret get to be perma disgusting, there’s always 1 broken mage spec, rsham is permanently terrible
Always catchin’ strays smh
You misspelled hpal
you misspelled stormstrike
Is rsham even bad rn? I swear some of my toughest matchups the last few weeks have been against rshams
its not terrible, but it feels awful to play imo
I just got 3k m+ and was going to play pvp first time this expansion, I sent all my honor to rsham and crafted my first couple on conq pieces now im seeing they are bad. I was gonna level a priest but then they didnt even have renew or PWS ![]()
Btw , I guess I need to just play totemic and Healing Tide? I dont really know the differences between the 2 trees. Im assuming totemic might be easier with the instant chain heals(and everyone in PVE playing it)
A lot of the poor balance is due to players insisting they earn increased power in PvP over the course of the season because “WoW is an MMO”. Most if not all of the attention on tuning is done at the beginning of seasons when characters are missing more than half of their conquest gear and tier sets. There is no way for the devs to know how everything is going to look once everyone is fully geared so we are left with specs getting kneecapped early while others take off after the devs go afk. Templates are never coming back but I still think whatever enjoyment players think they get out of gearing is overshadowed by the unforeseen consequences of not having them.
Going by representation on 3v3 ladder and rating in solo shuffle, rsham is by far the worst healer in the game. The highest rated rsham in 3v3 on the NA ladder right now is #151, then the one after that drops to #232.
MW Monks and Hpal are well represented on the top of the ladder despite people claiming they’re the worst.
So, why did Blizzard nerf them recently? They claimed rshams were “too good” in the dev note, yet at the time they weren’t even considered top 3 healers in PvP. They’re obviously lying, but why? Why do they have this bias I always wondered.
We know Blizz wants certain classes to be meta and the ideology Blizzard has of rsham has always been “not allowed to be high/top tier or it’s a problem”, which has been their take since the end of MoP.
It’s been like this for over 10 years now, people just don’t remember/care to admit it, so in bad faith point to a fringe patch or some broken talent rshams had that made them a one trick pony and immediately went back down to trash tier after they nerfed a single talent/ability.
Totemic is more passive healing and farseer focuses on improving actual casts.
Totemic is easier and less susceptible to interrupts/cc like you assumed
Both are viable
It’s terrible when you put them in a position to heal a caster vs melee cleaves.
Cause no one @ Blizzard has any understanding of what Shaman should be, so we get these awful interpretations of the class as each spec because devs refuse to align with what players want in a class/spec.
Year 10 of Flame shock having a cd and slowly just making it an aff lock where you don’t dispel it because haha oops you died.
Year 10 of Rsham having a non-modified link and having it’s skill cap reduced
Year 10 of Enhance having 1-2 viable comps because the spec does nothing as well as any other melee does. Strangely also lacks an MS.
Also yo shoutout to backlash hitting for upwards towards 1.5m ![]()
Farseer just needs slight buffs to allow for more cleave healing and it would be in a good spot.
Totemic needs the healing wave cast times that Farseer gets. Totemics casts are too slow and heal for so little compared to Farseer.
Farseer can almost feel like it has mini LoH at times.
Checking details at the end of matches, most of rshams healing (farseer) comes from healing wave when most other healers (not sure if every) it is from instants.
i’m not even kidding, but rsham is genuinely the worst healer you can play in PVP overall because it’s been bad consistently since shadowlands and rarely has seasons where it’s viable
shoutout last season tww where it was good/overpowered due to the tier set AND a bug they never hotfixed
Yeah this is the issue with Hero talents for many specs in general. For Rsham, our ST healing and Cleave/Group healing is split way too much between Farseer and Totemic. Farseer gets faster and stronger ST casts, with a bit of buffs to cleave/group healing, whereas Totemic gets a ton of improvements to Cleave/Group healing and passive healing but almost nothing for ST healing. So we end up wanting to play Totemic in both PvE/PvP which makes the spec feel a bit outdated because Healing Wave is way too slow and far less powerful. Losing Healing Surge is what made this a major issue as well.
I really hope they just nuke class trees hard, then remove hero talents and roll the best parts of them into spec trees. We’ll have extra points to use assuming class tree nuke happens, but even with hero talents themselves getting removed in this scenario those points could all go to the spec tree as additional talents, not replacements.
At the very least I want Windspeaker (Cast time of Healing Wave, Chain heal and Lava burst reduced by 10%) to be in the spec tree towards the top/middle. This should not be specific to a hero tree at all, it makes the spec as a whole feel so much better.
Literally everyone is always wondering this.
It feels pretty rough out there, keeping my lock friend alive against warrior teams hasn’t been going well so far lol.
you’re kind of late to the game, honor gear is trash. grind out conq until you get your weapon tokens. its gonna be rough till then. rsham is strong though, dont listen to these clowns.
This is my Sham. Gearing up hasn’t been too bad. I was going to level a priest but said F it and sent 10k honor to sham and crafted the rest with heraldries
I mainly did Solo Shuffle to get conquest gear and did crates like 2 hours yesterday. I got 1800 just farming gear, so im content with that.
If DPS queues weren’t so slow I might try playing something else. Main problem with Shaman I found is totemic can’t single target that great and seer just dies if I get trained. I know I wasn’t playing perfect and wasn’t running burrow whatever but yeah, Having to cast to heal in this day in age spells easy target ![]()
I’m welcome to advice if anyone has any. I see a lot of shamans running low vers on top of ladder which is crazy to me, maybe I need to get omnibar back ![]()
