Why did we need to save Anduin?

We sure have gone to a lot of trouble to free him. Was it necessary?

How has he not been effective? He had surrounded himself with great minds, he was schooled his entire life for this. Where was he not effective?

Poor guy has gone through enough, especially from the fandom.

We really need to start a Leave Anduin Alone movement soon.

If you mean in Sepulcher, we needed to forge the Crown of Wills which allowed us to resist the Jailer’s Domination powers to a degree.

Also, he was sort of in the way; we couldn’t really not deal with him.

Especially when nothing makes sense as to why people hate him. He was never an ineffective king. He was in charge of the armies and he did his job by the guidance of others, such as Genn and Turalyon and others. He defended, he went to war, he got a peace treaty out of that war, he dealt with all of that after losing his father and ultimately, none of it went wrong. He did not lose. So I never understood why people call him thus.

I feel like saving Anduin was in the path of our larger goal. He stood between us and Zovaal. If he didn’t, and he was off doing whatever else, we probably wouldn’t have bothered with him.

I mean, he’s wandering the Maw afterward, hanging out with Sylvanas, and nobody seems to care except Greymane.

Also, he kinda saved himself. We were beating him to death and he had that moment with Varian and Saurfang that gave him control.

A lot of it is presentation, I think. Blizz likes to show him as being oh so good and perfect. He’s not quite in Gary Stu territory but at times it felt like that’s what Blizz was shooting for, especially early on.

Yes. We may not need him, but he is the King of the Alliance. Because of him, Swarf and Hogrus have a safe home where they can live peacefully. Anduin has already proved himself a better King than his father by extending his protections to Swarf. Saving Anduin, therefore, was completely justified.

We saved him so he could emo out and go on a walk, alone.

Anduin has a kind heart and wants peace with the horde. I am not sure alot of races feel the same way but Thrall understands him and his purpose between the 2 factions. That is my opinion without reading the books.

Exactly. Anduin and Swarf will broker peace between our people.

Jaina and Sylvanas promised me certain . . . favors to rescue him.

I mean he did get kidnapped by flying monkeys with his bloodhound next to him.

Then got turned into a puppet by Mr. Roboto.

I can see why he needs a bit of help.

I did hate his character back in MoP because we’re at war and he’s going with talking is the way to peace as he puts himself in danger. And giving good ol’ dad something else to worry about.

BfA, once he realized that words just don’t work and sadly war is something that will continue whether he wants it to or not I saw his character growing.

SL, he got taunted by Sylvanas, became possessed and used as a puppet by the Jailer, and needed the strength of both dear ol’ dad and Saurfang to break free of the possession and now dealing with guilt.

Yeah, Anduin needs a break to handle a lot mental trauma but Blizz will gloss over it or use it as a glaring weakness that makes him still depend on others. Someone on the Alliance side go kidnap Nils Beerot so he can set up some sessions with him.

Wasn’t he showing more common sense than the Warchief back in mop?

Though showing more common sense than Garrosh is not a big deal… but he was made Warchief. :eyes:

OP: Of course, he’s Baine’s best friend!

Anduins gonna come back from the shadowlands just

Anduin is the archetypical handsome character that is universally loved and lusted by all different races. You just know goblin, orc, and void elf women have a fetish for him. Just like in real life.
