Why did they revert the solo friendly mythic n'zoth changes?

It was a bug. I was soloing the LFR N’Zoth and I was getting “Fettered Mind” after the first time I went down - it is only supposed to happen on Heroic and above. I repoorted it several days ago, so it’s possible they just hotfixed it today.

Are you absoluely sure you didn’t have “Fettered Mind”? I had the same trouble 2 days ago suddenly on the LFR version where I went down once and the 2nd time didn’t work, and I could clearly see that I had “Fettered Mind” which is the name of the debuff that is supposed to be on heroic and above to keep a player from going down twice!

i found that if you’re in a group less or at 5 members then you dont get MC’s

its changes to solo. if its a larger group mechanics apply

the two others died because of tether prolly. while you werent tethered to someone else.

Sorry I should have clarified. This is on mythic.

Of course. On mythic, or heroic, you can’t solo, because you are supposed to get “Fettered Mind” the first time you go down. It shouldn’t happen on LFR or Normal though, and that was the problem. They hotfixed it though - I just tried on LFR now. No “Fettered Mind” and an easy solo kill. I also confirmed you don’t need to have Heart of Azaroth or the Legendary Cape on either.

now the hardest part of nylotha is making or joining groups of full runs to get the skip to nzoth

I can confirm that they definately hotfixed this today. I just killed N’Zoth solo on LFR easily. No “Fettered Mind” like the other day, and I you no longer need to wear your Heart of Azaroth or your Legendary Cape. All Fixed! Thanks Blizz! (I can’t believe I spent hours the other day until I noticed the “Fettered Mind” debuff glitch. For that matter, I can’t believe I spent over an hour a few years ago going through the quest chain to get the Legendary Cape just so I could do the LFR N’Zoth, just to have the requirement removed a few weeks later LOL - oh well, it was a cool quest chain!)

I’ve been able to solo N’zoth on lfr, norm and heroic even before the recent nerf. That’s not what I’m talking about here. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if such bugs have cropped up in those difficulties regardless.

What I’m talking about is the fact that on mythic, I was able to solo it after the nerf, but the nerfs don’t apply if I’m in a group of 5? or more players because all the original mechanics kick back in.

Literally all they had to do was make it so that we could go into multiple mind gates and stop sanity loss from mc’ing you. Just do those 2 things regardless of group size.

the nerfs apply for a group of 5 or less

no one was getting MC’d if it was 5 or less in my groups

however fettered mind applies so u need 2 n 2 or 2 n 3 to go portals

oh and tethers

I wish they would specify this kind of detail in their patch notes.

i mean for years people been saying “make it soloable” so they made it soloable ig

They nerfed the fight*

Where * is “teehee monkey paw”.

i was in a group of 20 earlier for nzoth. and because people didnt kill the big adds after the second portal we all kept getting MC’d

Yes. Exactly what I’m saying. It appears the nerfs only apply in 5 man or smaller groups. Going in with a raid activates all the pre-nerf mechanics.

the only problem with big groups was always the cloaks so at least thats not needed anymore

The cloak was a big issue. But it wasn’t the only one. Off the top of my head:

  1. People still getting obliterated by paranoia.
  2. People not knowing what to do for mind gates and physcus.
  3. People losing sanity and getting mc’d half way into the fight.
  4. Everybody losing all their sanity at once due to not killing the big adds in the final phase fast enough due to ignoring them completely.
  5. People not stacking for HoA sanity refill.

when i make my groups im always gonna max it at 4-5

Yes. That is what I’ll be doing from now on as well now that I know what happens in raid groups.

its still funny to me that in legion my single target ability hits for millions, but in nylotha, my dmg is the same as in DF content

From memory, they had to make several tuning passes to legion content to make it actually soloable. I think it took them like 3-4 years after legion ended to get it right.
