Why did Blizzard nerf alliance premades?

I played Alliance from WOTLK through MoP, and then again for BfA and Classic. I can confirm from years of personal experience playing on this faction that many just don’t want to PVP.

Objective proof of this can be seen with Warmode on Retail. Ever since it was introduced, Alliance have always had the higher bonus percentage for being outnumbered.

The Alliance were exploiting the hell out of the battleground. It wasn’t nerfed, it was fixed.

In the end, the Alliance need to learn how to actually play the game… not rely on some gimick or idiotic “meta” strategy.

Agree.

Disagree. I don’t know why they haven’t changed the BG. I swear they somehow got it into their heads that the back door / galv changes were enough. They aren’t and anyone with any kind of sense would have known that. I am not arguing no changes. I am not arguing the BG isn’t Horde favored. It is and they have reasonable options to fix it. That doesn’t mean the dev team is biased though.

C’mon man… You don’t really believe this, do you?

There was no scorched earth in the alliance premade days. Horde just rushed to Bal to kill as many LTs as they could before the alliance ended the game in 7 to 10 minutes.

Scorched Earth, if youre cool with calling it that, developed when it was no longer feasible for the horde to lose fast in lieu of ever growing queues.

Why wouldn’t he? If the alliance and horde were 50/50 in population of players wanting to queue for av, then that queueing system would work exactly how its suppose to

Who is responsible for rolling horde?

A. The horde players
B. The queue system

The cave spawn was changed in retail to coincide with reinforcements being added to AV. Had nothing to do with GYs or any of that - it was pushed back so the horde couldnt just sit back and farm reinforcements to zero.

In a non reinforcements AV the cave location isnt that big a deal.

Horde did not have any near as bad a loss rate in AV during premade days as alliance do now. And even in a loss horde were getting significantly better honor/rep than alliance do in scorched earth loss. And their queues were shorter than they are now.

the difference is one is not intended, which you admit in line one, and the other is intended.

Reading comprehension, the cave respawns were in fact fixed in retail as well so that’s also not intended.

it was intended in classic and in vanilla, the premade exploit was not intended in classic or vanilla.

again we come back to this, not intended, not intended does not mean that blizzard need to change it, they’ve used “not intended but matches the reference client” as an excuse not to change things 50x by now, the alliance queues were not intended but they had to be fixed for some unknown reason. Meanwhile other “not intended” things like 6000 horde vs 8 alliance players on certain realms goes onwards

BAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHHAAHHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAH

because they were exploits that made the game worse for literally everyone that wasnt in the premade.

maybe if alliance premades didnt mass kick their own faction, have games start with 5 people, etc. then it wouldnt have been changed.

Then by that logic so was what alliance were doing as that mechanic was working exactly as it did in vanilla.

ok, well the horde being 66% of my server is making the game worse for everyone that isn’t horde, and its surely not intended, when will this be fixed?

Uhhhh I lost…get ready for it…99% of my AVs when the alliance were permitted to premade to their hearts content and glitch the hell out of Drek (yknow, if you want to talk about screwed up map advantages). In mere minutes, with next to no PVP unless I wanted to die in an AOE storm after recalling.

As far as rep or honor gain the alliance dont have it that bad either right now, especially with 9 sec queues.

you seem to misunderstand that one is an exploit, the other is design choice. they are not treated the same.

is having 66% of a realm be horde an exploit to you?

The way the queuing system worked was also a design choice.

If it ended up not being used the same in classic as it was in vanilla well the same can be said about some of the other fixes alliance have asked for.
