no? but is queueing at the same time as someone you know an exploit?
the way alliance were doing it, in combination with their abuse of other features, yeah it was.
You answered your own question there- AV had an advantage for the less played faction (which of course is Alliance because everyone stacked Horde for all the other advantages), as well as a massive advantage for the Horde. If theyād fixed both, it would have ended up with AV being evenly matched.
Blizz couldnāt let that happen. Their Horde favoritism in game and out of game has been proven time and time again. Just look at how the players who claim that Horde are just straight up better will also desperately cling to their obvious advantage since they know full well that they arenāt. Watch them whine for half a year over WSG/AB, which have balanced maps and both factions can premade or pug- since when the field is fair, Horde cannot handle the competition.
Funny thing is, AB isnāt even balanced, the map is horde favored also
There it is! I knew this was coming! BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHA
.
And here comes the meticulously detailed post breaking down how Horde have a 50.5% advantage in AB compared to Alliance having a 49.5% disadvantage. Lord only knows how they will quantify these, but they exist!
this is irrelvant. obviously the queuing system is a design choice, were talking about how the alliance exploited the flaws in that design choice, through the use of mass reporting and other activites that degraded the game.
cave rez is a design choice, and it is exploited by the horde so that they defend a graveyard.
but, their method of exploitation is entirely different. one is breaking the rules, abusing features to diminish gameplay experience of other players, the other isnt. the other one is a strategy for a battleground. this isnāt about feelings, conspiracies about horde favoritism, it is logic.
Complaining about WSG/AB is just silly any advantages one side or the other have are extremely minor and non issues unlike AV.
Totally agree. I am down with discussing how to make AV better. There are lots of things they could do there. But to actually say that AB / WSG have any kind of bias that affects anything but the most extreme margins is just ridiculous.
Well you can tell you havenāt played much premade vs premade ab, the key points of the map are bs/lm/st or farm, the horde get to bs first, they get the zerker first and its easier for them to reinforce LM/Farm from bs than it is for alliance by far, horde have a bridge back to farm, alliance have a river
While the ST/Mine/BS and BS dismount for Alliance is a definite disadvantage compared to LM/BS/Farm for Horde with an easy bridge to BS- that advantage canāt really be compared to what AV has where the first combat happens at the Alliance GY and Horde can reach their first GY twice as quickly from their cave. Itās an advantage sure, but not one that makes up for the inherent lack of Horde player skill, hence all the whine threads like this where Horde players complain that premades, a feature both sides have the exact same, equal access to, greatly favour Alliance.
To make it comparable, AB would have to have the Horde starting point be in the BS, something which of course the Horde here would defend as completely fair since thereās obviously nothing unfair with meeting the Alliance at their first GY the ST.
By FAR. By FAR! LOL! Ok. That 1% difference matters in whatā¦1 out of 500 games? Get outta here.
AB is dynamic enough that a slight initial advantage is not a major issue. Nor does it put alliance in a virtually unwinnable situation like we see in AV which gets progressively harder to recover from.
By far? yes? the entire bg is about rotation and the horde have a 10 second shorter rotation time, thatās a pretty big advantage considering unless the alliance group is significantly stronger than the horde group, the horde group will use positionining + the initial bs zerker to win that initial skirmish at bs. Against real teams its very hard to recover after that
Most Horde wouldnāt argue with making changes to AV though either. There are exceptions. Personally, I would love it if they adjusted the starting point respawns so they become last resorts instead of active. I would also love it if alliance dying at specific spots in the map actually pushed them to the most logical graveyard. IIRC, I think it was dying in the middle sent back to the alliance cave or something. Thatās ridiculous.
Sounds like maybe your team should look at replacements if you are losing so many of these games like this.
donāt blame the alliance for clever use of game mechanics. long after the change horde were still back door jumping to take towers.
something the ally stealth never do but stillā¦
Where are these most Horde? Cuz theyāve been absent for basically the entirety of Classic. For the first several months after AV came out Iāve had this discussion, and āmost Hordeā would argue that the first battles in AV happening at SHGY is completely fair, that giving the Horde the FoS for free is fair, that Horde having a half minute advantage on cave respawns is fair, that Alliance auto losing the moment we lose SHGY but Horde never needing to defend IBGY yet also being guaranteed to win if they do so is fair.
Almost all Horde on these forums have spent the last half year arguing that thereās no imbalance and thus should be no changes in AV, some even arguing that AV favours Alliance, that losing the full FoS is to our advantage (they donāt argue very well, but of course they donāt because theyāre wrong about everything).
Some Horde now finally starting to support AV changes, after everyoneās ranked and pvp is basically dead and thereās no chance of AV ever being revitalized is like withholding a man water in a desert until heās dead and then pouring it on and wondering why heās not thankful.
AVās dead, Horde asked for that, Blizz made changes to make it so- itās done. Premades moved to AB/WSG, at Hordeās behest, and they are there to stay, and nothing will change that.
Reaping their 99% win rate that came from blizzard bending over backwards to help them all while pretending āthis is for the allianceā
Nobody is buying that BS.
jUsT tRy hArdEr GuYz! As if that could ever overcome the monumental advantages blizzard gave them. Of course the horde dont care and think the premade changes were good. They were the benefactors in all of this
There is an entire thread about the AV cave and within that thread you will see most horde agreeing that the respawns should be addressed. I would personally take it further and adjust druid summoning positioning + add in random start locations so both sides get the short end of the stick. Unfortunately I donāt see them doing either.
Keep yanking those goal posts around. It is very impressive and not at all annoying.
