Why continue to go out of their way to make the game less enjoyable?

A hotfix to a change that is still an absolute downgrade? Wow really they shouldn’t have.

For sure, I do naturally end up on the elitist end of things.
I try not to, but its just who I am naturally, after 15 years of trying to be the best I can be at this game.

Obviously, the game has issues that people don’t like.
But a lot of it, like this situation, are just misunderstandings and overreactions.
Its good to take a break to minimize those things.
At least that’s how I find it.

The world quest does not seem to take any longer.
I just did it a few minutes ago and it was insanely fast.
I think they might have already hotfixed it though.

But yes, in general, it is a “you” issue.
The game is supposed to be fun right?
Why would playing it longer be less fun?

They’re not reverting the change.

And so you have to ask… why aren’t they? And why was the change made in the first place?

Clearly it IS a “malfunction” because Blizzard literally nerfed an element of the game to make players fight over resources and make a quest take much longer to complete.

Sorry mate, that’s not a “me problem,” it’s a bad developer decision.

But by all means, keep on keeping on with that blind love. Just like with certain
politicians, you may feel warm and wanted, but they’ll turn their back on you in the end.

And that’s the problem right there - you’re looking at the game as some sort of “boot camp” or personal goal fulfilment thing.

News flash: the vast, VAST majority of us play this game for FUN.

And there’s yet another “just quit.”

Typical.

Anyway, I think this is a foolish change - That was 100% not needed.

I think the kicker is that it’s happening now? When the Maw is already not fun and not something I do anymore. To know that it’s getting worse over time does not up my desire to want to go there (Even after I got the Torghast mount)

If it had been this way from the start I don’t think people would be nearly as upset. They might have noted it as an annoyance, but otherwise accepted it. It’s that we’re 4 months in and something that many already view as cumbersome is being made even more so. The hotfix being put in to place won’t change this behavior either, merely lessen it somewhat.

It just feels like Shadowlands continues to put it’s worst foot forward with every decision and people are increasingly upset and justifiably so.

Absolutely yes. It’s one thing to have a challenge and obstacles to be overcome. But those should be for the players’ benefit. They should be enjoyable and not tedious. This IS a videogame, and every single thing should be for the players’ benefit.

Your approach isn’t the best take you want because that’s like saying let the government do as they please. There gotta be balance in between and their hot fix isn’t balance at all. It’s pretty much saying take it or leave it. You don’t want to do that with your audience or you’ll label your own company as something negative.

Overall not a good outcome.

I would really love to, but the point of the OP is that so many of their changes feel like this.

Especially a change like this that wasn’t broken. No one was complaining about it. It has nothing to do with pve raid/ m+ content of pvp. There’s no class balance issues.

The quest worked fine. Coupled with no to very little/ vague communication, and the most direct response to a change that negatively impacts players is going to be what the op hits on.

Wouldn’t be the first green text to go through this, but Metro is really extending his view points here on a issue that isn’t in his favor no matter how neutral he’s trying to come off. I would just leave the thread, but he put himself in this rabbit hole. Know your battles 101.

People don’t like being told their ideas are bad. So they ignore any criticism and we suffer.

Again telling people if they don’t like it to uninstall. It’s your way or the highway right?

WRONG.

People will complain and have every right to be upset and want this to change.

Unfortunately those with strong egos never get the point until it’s too late.

Well it hasn’t been this way for the last 15 years, so not sure why you’d expect otherwise all of a sudden.

No, just trying to help people solve their own problems.
Its unlikely the game will change, so its important you find a way around it, otherwise you will continue to be unhappy.
I assume people do not want to be unhappy right?
I may actually be wrong in that assumption though, honestly.

Gaslighting yet again.

Just stop. You dig a bigger hole for yourself with every post.

Nothing about this thread is our “own” problems god what is your problem? Stop trying to be this father figure to the entire thread.

The game is constantly changing, not sure why you keep mentioning this. When it changes things for good they good good PR. When it changes for bad they get bad PR. That’s how this works Metro.

Part of being an adult is being able to address this.

Literal years of examples of Blizzard changing for things players have said was right from the start.

Hell, flying at all is one of those changes

True this is why I think there’s a lot of enjoyment out of improving in Classic. Just like any harder game you need to improve over time and master the gameplay, or at least for me as someone who was new to Classic it was tougher.

Though it is also in how the difficulty is designed and implemented.
