Why can't we have Necromancers?

I don’t know if the WoW interface and engine would really allow for complex management of multiple minions in battle, which is what I would want a necromancer to be.

Yes, OK, but are they undead?

It is multiple

Minus imps you can summon up to 4 minions with imps its an army lol

Necromancers are trash tier in this franchise. A stepping stone to becoming a Warlock, Lich, or Death Knight.

But thats my point.

You dont create a new class based on how it looks. You create a new class by it offering a new mechanic/play style brought to the fold.

Better luck asking for a glpyh that makes your warlock pets look more undead.

Never been a fan of the whole necromancy concept but I feel like it would just be kinda dull.
I do however appreciate summoning aspect of it but we do already have demonology, it would just be a reskin?

Because we have them. Its called Unholy Dk.

So you want to raise the dead, spread disease, and leech blood from your foes?

Is there some reason a death knight doesn’t work here? They’re basically necromancers that get to wear plate as a bonus.

Ok that’s a bridge to far…I represent necromancer union 666 and that’s hurtful where is the management

I scratch my Necromancer itch with sone D4!

The best way to get Necromancer will be a class skin for Demonology… so many of the demo spells could 1 for 1 be Necromancer abilities.

Imps>skele mages
Felguard> Undead Juggernaut
Dreadhounds> Skele Warriors
Summon Tyrant > Summon Lich
Implosion>Bone Bomb.

These are just one of many examples… if we’re honest though Demonology has been ruined back in the day Affliction was a dot spec, Destro was Upfront damage and Demo was basically Ups and Downs… now Demonology and Affliction are both dot specs… the demon army Demonology Summons are basically visible dots

Necromancer as a class does not fit the lore. They are all part of the scourge or under the control of the Fel.

They would have to do an entire expansion story to explain some group of Necromancers breaking free of the control over them and frankly, I would not want to see that since Death Knights are Necromancers in plate and that story was done perfectly. To do it again just to bring in a cloth wearer would be a waste of story.

That’s the first argument because it’s really the only one that’s needed. You’d have a point if we’re going to add lots of weird/random sub-classes to the game (like necromancer), but I don’t think that will ever happen, there’s simply too much overlap even already

Did any of you look at the Ossomancy and Sanguimancy part? No? Just focused on raise dead I guess. Necromancy can be used as a basis for other types of death magic that exist.

In diablo the necromancers are keepers of the cycle of death. Again this all stems from the fact everyone thinks necromancy itself is 100% evil when it is a form of magic. Any magic can be abused. You don’t see Shaman’s being attacked for the evil ones that joined the twilights hammer.

Then play that if you want a necro

I will always say no to necromancers, and the even stupider idea of glyph that makes warlocks necromancers

Look at you hyper focusing without reading the rest of the context.

The Alliance should be all hunky dory with necromancers. They love the void, the fel and light crazies.

When I think of necromancies, it’s more ARPG style.

Lots of corpse explosions. Persistent pets. Blood golems. Rezzing dead mobs for a few minutes.

When i think of necromancers i think of bones and the transfer of life essence from enemies to friends.

Yet we have classes that just vent fel all over the place and corrupt things while standing there like warlocks and DH and shadow priest. Then there is the twilights hammer and the elementalists going nuts but anyone with those magics don’t get looked down on no matter how much is abused. Everyone forgot about the dark shamans it seems.
