Why can someone who only plays Sea of Thieves Hold WoW character names hostage?

Just come up with better names.

google is right there staring you in the face my friend. Need me to type the characters on the keyboard for you into the search engine?

you and op are CRAZY. we know this because you are using some crazy fringe example of RMT involved with naming your char. the fact you claim to know about it says enough about you, the fact you try to use it as an argument says even more.

i can find ALOT of things on google, that doesn’t make them true. saying i saw something on ebay for 5k thats normally 5 dollars doesnt mean its now worth 5k… lots of reasons to believe you are in fact a karen.

Ignoring your character can’t be 23 years old yet, yes – if you’re asking about how I think it should be run. It would apply to me too if I took a break for four years. (Which it should be pointed out four years is longer than most MMOs’ lifecycles.) Character names should be for the people actively playing the game. Not inactive accounts.

All the above is, of course, IMO.

Stop using real-life names or common words for character names, simple!

No one wants to see Jaeden, Braeden, Leighton, Kayden the Warlock

I’d much rather see names like this than see names like Twerkadin.

But between the names I see in game and the complaints about ā€œname shortagesā€ I’m very aware that WoW players are both unoriginal and unfunny.

Because I do not need my character to have a super special unique flower of a name since it’s just a name.

Imagine getting this worked up over a theoretical situation that might impact a small handful of names if it ever actually happened.

Because maybe they’ll play wow again.

Last names. I’d love last names. A couple of my characters could use them.

In 4 years, my character will have been 23 years old.

I would love last names as well. Or the ability to put in a single hyphen or dash into a name if people didn’t want a last name.

There is something nice about having a simple name, such as Song, that is appealing. Having a last name would let me bypass someone actively using that name or people sitting on names.

That’s the point of the space option. It would give people that option for a last name. But not all races use last names. So this way, with the choice of a space, hyphen or apostrophe… you get the choice of a last name and others get the option of their cultural naming conventions for their race. :slightly_smiling_face:

FWIW, there were datamined strings a while back that imply that might be coming in a future patch.

If we get the option of one space, hyphen or apostrophe in names… I will be so happy and waste so much money on name changes…
