I don’t check these forums often but I don’t remember I saw something taking this proportion before in a real long time. That’s a pretty good indicative on how people are dissatisfied about the content. Obviously, you are ignoring all the PTR and shadow buffing debacle because it fits your narrative.
I tried it, I compared it to other people and friends and it was obvious that the scaling isn’t equal for every shadowlands gear. For some reason you think you are right when you’re wrong and your ignorance on the matter says that you actually didn’t test it or probably didn’t even try to do the challenge on undergeared characters. I would even bet that this character you’re posting on is an alt of yours.
Spin all you want, nobody should have to farm gear from 5 expansions ago just because they have multiple sockets and bloated stats to complete a timewalking challenge event. I don’t want to cheese the event. I didn’t cheese it before and I wouldn’t want to cheese it now. It should be done with the current gear and not from heroic or mythic raiding only. You have to be daft if you think that’s not a very good indicative of something broken or at the very least not working as intended.
Classic. “it can be done” “people have done it” but you can’t link a single example of what you claim. Like I said, you won’t be able to show me a video of people doing that in korthia gear ilvl 220, you gonna need to be at the very, very least fully upgraded up to ilvl 233+ with optimal stats. If you are able to upgrade your korthia items to ilvl 233+ it means you already do at least keystone runs and have your archivist already upgraded to max rank for the extra sockets. That’s why people just prefer to farm chromie/pvp gear since its easier, but still stupid.
Just keep dribbling more about it though. Going thru this kind of grind just to do a timewalking challenge is just silly and that’s what people are complaining about. Everything about this event was done wrong from the get go.
PTRs are for testing functionality, the fact that numbers were changed going into live is of no issue for me.
If you want to make sure your product gets tested, you make it so more people can reliably get to the end of it. ie ptr was easier on purpose.

I don’t have any interest in doing the mage tower for recolored legion armor pieces. Like, at all. BUT I do agree; this should be available to players all the time. If it were then maybe I’d try it out sometime, but for a limited time event for what I personally consider lackluster rewards as compared to the original mage tower I’m not going to waste my time.

No, I actually have friends that do 20+ keystones and its obvious there is a discrepancy on gear scaling, as it is supposed to be. You don’t even need to compare it this way to know how that works. Just do a timewalking dungeon and go check how it scales differently, but of course you won’t, you will just keep on ignoring it and trying to gaslight people like a good mongoloid would do.
My dude, I got druid skin from MT challenges for all specs for hunter
and guardian/feral druid during legion without running a single piece of heroic raiding or mythic dungeon gear. The game is automatically harder for me in general and I can do just fine with it. What I can’t do fine is having to deal with botched systems like this and brown nosers like you.
Show me your video of clearing one challenge in korthia gear or just link me any video for that matter then I will agree with you. Obviously you won’t, so just keep repeating your moronic gaslighting.

You are affirming repeatedly that it can be done. I googled it, couldn’t find anything, nor can you provide evidence of other people doing it or even yourself doing it. Therefore, you can’t back up your claim.

Bro, the ONLY healer one I did was resto druid. As I understand it, holy is really overtuned. It may be more doable since the nerfs, but I’m putting the healer challenges off until the last ones
I’m just way less comfortable as those specs outside of an arena or raid environment.
Ive noticed during my attempts Im doing average 800 DPS on P2 of Xylem, but I have my own issues to deal with when not killing him, I think me its a matter of not using Unbound when its ready, im holding it for the adds, shouldnt be doing that, as well as not having the Cyclotronic Blast, which I have now, we shall see though, but i do agree it needs to be tuned down to that level
I thought Korthia gave gear with little versatility, which guardians need to get through P2. Casual PvPers have been complaining about this.
I would say there are so many differences that there is no main difference. The main difference between the guardian one then and now is that in Legion guardians were not required to do P1 as balance. I never used balance affinity in Legion.
To be honest, the mage tower with that unbelievable damages, only a few legendary players will get through… only 3 times of challenge I realized this is wasting time… nothing different and there is no point to come back on…

That borrowed power difference actually made the challenge tower for all intents of purpose beat-able, Because each UNIQUE Trait from Our Artifact weapon, actually provided More survivability and damage overall in Legion.
Time Walker MT just feels like the company is telling us by this means of content that we have no power here, I just think it’s absurd, that we can’t use our Covenant abilities and Now Legendries to aid us in beating a challenge Most of us already completed, like it no longer feels like a challenge, it feels like we’re being “taunted.”

Ilvl scales, sockets give gear more of a stat budget. I don’t reccomend korthia gear because the secondary stats are not good for many specs.
What you can do though in Korthia is put sockets into different gear. People who clear mage tower in shadowlands gear have optimized there gear already. Part of that is adding sockets and you can do that with korthia. Shadowlands crafting allows you to pick your secondary stats too. You dont even need to upgrade it, just use the lowest ilvl you can find with the right stats.
Fact is the tuning is very unforgiving. Mechanics are very unforgiving, and rng mechanics can kill a run for you, not to mention bugs.
Also since you are scaled down your stat priorities are not the same like when you sim for your actual ilvl. Ilvl impacts your gear and stat priorities due to stat budgets. Its all static stat budgets meaning sidegrades are more noticable. Even though sidegrade exist at high lvls. Your loot options increase thus more options. You can choose from a few expansions what type of gear you want to use. That is good. Shadowlands has bad rng and bad itemization in many cases. But even then shadowlands has good things like trinkets, The JC rings also have sockets so those are good options for timewalking. People also slap on gear they already used and kept in there banks. Some of that gear was relevant when they did the challenge the first time.
If Blizzard tuned around people using tw sets thats a failure on blizzard. Content should be tuned around lesser parameters imo.
