With the new fist weapons and normalized raptor strike damage, I think they’ll do a lot of damage. Plus it will be easier to stack proper debuffs in 20 man so you’ll see them go up across the board
That sounds terrible.
We’ve talked about this as a guild already. We would sacrifice druid DPS to have them rune Wild Strikes but we wouldn’t have the hunter (me) break the melee DPS up to start making accommodations. Melee hunters are just way too good compared to MM. Is it worth shedding 300+ DPS to spec into MM over melee? The only real way to make that work right now would be to have me go SP MM and none of us, myself included, wanted to start clearing the casters of loot to build an unusual, gimmicky set.
Ultimately, there is no benefit to sacrificing the melee hunters DPS for the overall DPS increase for all of the melee. A top tier MM hunter is doing 500~ DPS right now. Top tier melee hunters are 700-800~. 100 AP isn’t making up that difference amongst 4 other melee.
90% ranged are doing 300ish while 90% melee are doing 600+. That spread is only going to get wider next phase as melee hunters can now go 31/0/10 and got some insane buffs.
