Because arathi basin and deepwind gorge exist. Awful game ruining maps you are just at the mercy of the clueless players on your team remove both these maps and the bracket is good.
I used to hate certain maps, but after you play enough you figure out that you just have to adapt your strategy. Figure out what works for you and they will be more fun. I don’t have a problem with the two maps you mentioned especially below 2400. Above 2800 it can for sure be frustrating if you are a healer because you pretty much just spin a base 2v2 and hope your team wins elsewhere. Assuming you are a dps and below 2400 you have a TON of agency on those two maps.
I hate to break it to you, but “clueless players” as you say aren’t going to be doing much better on any of the other maps. if anything I feel like I have the most agency on these two maps in a bad game since even if the rest of my team is doing badly I can still earn points for my team by holding a point/taking one of theirs and at least feel like I am contributing.
You can put Leynia on ignore. Nobody listens to him anymore. Just go to their profile and click ignore.
I like AB and Deepwind Gorge is fine, imo. You’re always largely at the mercy of your teammates in blitz on any map so I don’t see that as being more of a factor in any map specifically.
If it was just EotS and the 2 flag maps, that would be very boring, again, imo.
EOTS is probably the worst one since someone capturing the flag at the wrong time can actually cause you to lose and people could do it by accident.
Yeah I always feel a little apprehensive on this map. One person can easily throw the match in Eye.
Why would we do this?
But in EOTS I get to sit at a low point in middle and tee off at targets where the flag spawns with most of my animations hidden by the ground it is traveling through, so thats cool.
I’d get rid of EotS before either of those. Have lost way more games to people not understanding how the map works.
Deepwind could use some terrain changes, but I enjoy AB still. I like the node changes especially for a rated mode.
Welcome to playing with the regular old player base friend. Been like this for 20 years. They just found a rated mode they enjoy or want to play. But this doesn’t seem like a Blitz issue, it’s either a you issue OR just a player issue. Not a Blitz issue. You run into this in every single game mode in WoW at some point.
I have a feeling this gets fixed at some point. I hope anyway.
You actually have the agency to carry bad players on maps like temple or warsong gultch as a healer.
On arathi basin and deepwind gorge you are spending 80% of the game locked into a 2v2 base spinning stalemate.
15 man maps dont belong in 10 man game mode so stop defending it.
Conterpoint though, I can’t carry on those maps as a dps as easily as I can on AB or DG. Yes I could make a sick play and return the flag in WSG but that feels a lot more luck than in say AB I could make good tactical plays consistently by either defending or taking a node 1v1 or 1v2.
I can see how as a healer that would feel boring though so it’s understandable.
And in temple if your entire team is not working to pick up orbs you’re not going to feel useful no matter how many orb carriers you kill or orbs you pick up. Watching people run right by an orb is the most frustrating experience ever.
Just saying there’s different perspectives and experiences.
Any map is easy if you self sync and queue 4 of your own characters into one lobby. You can’t lose!
OT a bit, but the main thing that keeps me from doing BB is the queue times.
yeah because ccing 2 people and capping a base is a play anyone can do that is why you feel that way.
Carrying multiple teamfights with insane mechanics isn’t something most people are good enough to do.
I can’t. I can cyclone 1 person (if they don’t trinket, cc, interrupt, immune, stealth, or have a pet) but if there’s two I have nothing that would last long enough for me to get the cap in.
I either have to stay alive long enough for backup to arrive, or try to incarn one of them down ASAP.
It also depends a lot more on your team and the enemy team. If we’re talking your typical 7v7 team fight at waterworks in battle for gilneas, you can do the absolute best that your class and spec can possibly do and still lose the team fight or at least not be able to win it and accomplish nothing in the end.
Meanwhile that guy you left at LH or Mine gets attacked 1v1 and your team’s hope to win the match may hinge entirely on whether they win that 1v1 fight.
Which player has more individual agency? I would say it’s the player in the 1v1 fight because it’s all up to them if they win or lose that fight, whereas the 7v7 fight in mid relies on 6 other people also doing the right things.
It doesn’t mean one player is more skilled than the other, that’s not what agency means. It’s just that being stuck in a large team fight isn’t always going to go the way you want it to no matter how well you personally play. You can’t carry when you’re stunned.
You don’t even play Blitz.
Why? People are entitled to an opinion. Why would you encourage that?
