I literally do not recall any loot drop I have ever had.
I DO remember the gear I wanted from a vendor and grinded heroics until I could get it. I am not a fan of gambling.
But I get it. A lot of folks are not wired like me and gambling gives them that “hit” they crave. Kinda sad and manipulative to be honest. And too many games prey on that.
