Why are we like this?

For our buck they could be doing a better job.

That is 100% false. If a dwarf was there would they also be void elves? Studying does not make you a void elf. Void elves are elves who partially turned into void creatures.

Those are both just different clans of dwarves. They had not been changed into a partial void creature.

You’re literally gonna tell me that having human skin colors or hair colors should be restricted, just because of shadow magic?

Like I hate to break it to you buddy, but skin hair or skin color isn’t really a racial exclusivity. Like eek.

Edit:

They’ve said multiple times that the tattoos and feathers of Dwarves, are so people can RP as a Wildhammer Dwarf. Just like with the new Troll skin tones. It’s the same thing for High Elves via Void and Blood Elves.

Alleria was literally just studying the Void with Locus Walker, and absorbing the dark Naaru. Yet she’s now a Void elf, who looks like a High Elf, and isn’t an actual void creature.

You’re a non human skin toned theme, like NE’s, DI. It is extremely unfair you have two visual themes and you continue to ask for the bits Blizzard saw fit to keep unique for BEs.

Alright dude you have gone beyond the pale. You clearly just want high elves including high elf paladins despite VE lore. No human has skin color by being partially changed into a void creature. No one in the rift researching void energy is a void elf because they are researching. Heck how does one researching the void even lend itself to them becoming a paladin?

She was not a VE at this point.

Yeah “JUST” absorbing a dark naaru (and a void prince), but other then that just researching lol.

What you mean we, Kemosabe?

The possibility is there to represent High Elves is all. If you’d read or pay attention.

Oh no, here to claim to the unfair train, but when VEs said this before getting skins, ppl like you shot them down. It’s not unfair, they are the same people essentially, get over yourself. It’s not going to kill the Horde. Also, Night Elves have some pretty close to human shades tbf.

RP tools isn’t validation to the HE visual theme that VE’s aren’t entitled to.

Funny I campaigned for something to be done for HE fans, you got it, and you’re still not happy so no people like me didn’t do that because you have no idea who you’re talking to.

That’s not entirely correct. The vast majority of Prelates lost their powers, but a select few didn’t, because their faith wasn’t completely based on Rezan, but on his teachings.

The Paladin lore have had been retconned since the end of Wrath, I believe, where Aponi first discussed the idea of the Sunwalkers. Since then, anyone can wield the Light, as long as their faith is unwavering and they fully believe their cause is righteous.

Which is why those that saw Rezan as their beacon lost their powers, while those that saw Rezan’s teachings the most important aspect of their cause maintained it.

That’s literally 99% of why ALL of the new customizations happened.

Also, not sure how many times I have to say it, but you don’t own a skin color, it’s not a theme. Do you realize how you sound?

Man the word Toxic isn’t Toxic anymore

Because it’s stealing another factions identity. Even NB can’t don’t look the exact same as night elves. But what you want is for void elves to look like blood elves exactly.

I gotta agree with that… Ideally, Broken should have taken the Void Elf place, but between Alliance Quel’dorei and Ren’dorei, I would stick to High Elves. Void Elves are just way too messy to be decent.

Blizzard said, on the same Blizzcon that BFA was announced, as part of their Q&A that maybe in the future Void Elves would get High Elf customization to fulfill that fantasy, I think the skin colors were just the beginning.

Nightborne are an evolution of Night Elves, similar to how Trolls or High Elves veered from Night Elves.

The more proper comparison here would be to Mag’har Orcs vs Regular Orcs, or Lightforged Draenei vs Draenei

Incorrect as Mag’har orcs and regular orcs are on the same faction. Both void elves and Nightborne are clear takes from the other faction while making them different. The difference is your advocating for the void elves to look exactly like blood elves, imagine if the Nightborne were able to look exactly like night elves. Despite being changed by their forces, night elf players would prolly feel peeved.

It’s not incorrect though. Even if you’re ONLY considered Void Elves as those who were mutated in Telogrus. The process is still just like being Voidforged. Meaning the differences shouldn’t be as drastic as from Night Elf to Nightborne. Who as we know were loved so much for their unique looks and evolution that they became playable, albeit with a half worked model.

Yeah, they’re on different factions. But lore wise those Elves has always been on both sides. Plus players aren’t locked into only faction, with many playing both. If anything people should be happy to not think EVERY living member of a species is only one side or the other. It makes the world more alive, and you can have your toons that are Elves who you like, if you’re really into their lore and feel, as a lot of players are.

Wow, it’s almost like we haven’t been stuck to a single faction since forever.

It’s just a silly argument, I play both factions, Quel’dorei have been actively present in both factions, there is no “identity steal”, surprisingly enough, their political and world views are vastly different.

High Elves tend to take the moral high ground, not doing things they would consider unethical and were even exiled for it, they put their allegiances and loyalties above their own survival, not to mention that the different subsection of High Elves, such as the ones in Dalaran that maintained a bit of their “noble” look while those at the lodges took a more “Ranger-based” culture make them quite distinct from the Sin’dorei.

Sin’dorei on the other hand became much more cynical of the world around them after the Scourge Invasion of Quel’Thalas, most of the things they do is in the name of the Sin’dorei survival, including allegiances, how they treated their mana-addiction back in TBC how in MoP, while Vol’jin was working on a forming rebellion, Lor’themar’s first instinct was to try reestablishing diplomatic relationships with the Alliance. The Sin’dorei have a “Us against the world” mentality, which is one of the things that makes them great, they will do whatever it takes to insure their people never suffer again like they did at the hands of Arthas.

Both are awesome for what they are, these races don’t “belong” to anyone, some exist in both factions, it is and, again, it will always be a silly argument “they are stealing a faction’s identity.” if anything, this is just a display of one’s need to be a snowflake.

This is by far the best post I’ve read on this issue. It makes a lot of sense.
