Why are trolls so rare?

Yeah but these are Wish .com trolls. I want high quality trolls.

Hello cutie. High koalaitee troll here.

I love troll lore and voice acting, just can’t stand transmog look and cast and melee animations

Hmm, I wouldn’t say that. Most regarded their worshipers as ‘Followers’ to simply follow in their teachings. For those that were weakened and/or destroyed, I’d say that’s on the Trolls for being arrogant & vain over the Loa.

But in Vanilla to Legion, they’d always been rather strong - and their spirits were eternal with power (Source - Zul’Drak Quests with the Polar Bear Loa Rhunok), along with their lore. Then in BFA and Shadowlands their ‘Whoa’ factor, power and influences just got nerfed so, so so hard.

– And as stated earlier, the lore about souls / spirits throughout various worlds and eternalised powers ebbing & flowing throughout the Warcraft Universe was nerfed to kodo dung.

My Zandalari wants to know your location.

Ehem…

I think the hunch also helps, but the Orcs are the most representative race of the Horde, they get the biggest stories (like Humans in Alliance), good racial, etc. But Darkspear are amazing, they give a great jungle warrior vibe, their dance is great and they might have the coolest idle animation.

And Zandalari are gated.

People just don’t understand that once you go Troll, you never reroll.

I like female trolls, except for the feet.

I have a weakness for big strong Orc, Tauren and Zandalari Troll ladies. All 3 have amazing physiques that need to be shown off.

All the trolls are on this forum…

I wish I could make a troll of each type.

Still need to make forest, frost, and dark

I have a jungle troll druid and a sand troll hunter

I would love frost troll stuff myself. Saw them when I made my gnome. And they look pretty cool.

And maybe they could evolve customization to have icicle tipped tusks. Magic decorations or something.

FWIW Zandalari are one of the most popular allied races, only behind Void Elves.

Bad mog game.

Zandalari are fine, though.

Troll Fans may be loud, but don’t mistake that for being numerous.

It’s a niche taste. While Orcs are Blizzard Shorthand for “The Horde” and Elves are “idealized beauty,” Trolls are… Trolls.

Now, that’s not to say the WarCraft troll isn’t one of the most developed, nuanced, and interesting takes on that idea. Most Trolls are depicted as barely sentient beasts, 2D monsters for the Hero to slay. In WarCraft, Trolls are a race, a culture, and a people. Compare that to the likes of the Elder Scrolls where trolls are… basically weird aggro gorillas.

But… still, the appeal is going to be limited. Trolls aren’t pretty, their physical forms are gangly and weird. The toe-nail on their heels are enough for many to nope out. If you don’t connect with the pseudo-Jamaican voodoo vibe, all that culture and development isn’t going to draw you in either. Blizzard may* love trolls to death, but generally that’s not going to be most people.

*keyword: “may” - after all this time we’ve yet to see a Troll tribe/variant whose story wasn’t defined by getting raided and ground into mojo paste
