Why are the pvp layers always so unbalanced?

For example in the undermines it’s either 95% horde or 95% alliance and if you’re layered in an opposite faction dominant there are groups rolling over every solo players.

Simple, you are either a solo player or you are in a LFG group for sparks or a LFG raid for crates.

If you are the solo player, you will always be disadvantaged in WPvP with the only benefit that it is easier to take the coward’s way out into a follower dungeon.

1- Because what do you do when the last 100 players to go into a WM shard are 90A/10H. Forcibly shove more horde players into that shard and out of the one they’re in, which everyone hates?

2- Because what do you do when a group enters the zone. Have them split across different shards?

3- Because what do you do when there are simply more of one faction hanging out in warmode?

World PVP is never going to be fair. That’s why the rewards for doing it are minimal compared to rated modes.

I think they’re all unbalanced as it takes a certain type of mental weakness to enjoy PVP. Not that PVP causes the unbalance, but that PVP is attractive to the unbalanced.

EDIT: I read the title wrong. It is ‘layers’ not ‘players’.

You could put 100 Alliance and 100 Horde in a zone, that doesn’t make the experience balanced.

You could put 20 Mages, 20 Warriors, 20 Hunters, 20 Rogues, and 20 Priests on either side. It still wouldn’t be balanced.

You could go even further, make the specs the same. The item levels. The PVP rating.
Still not balanced.

Why? Because you have no way of knowing who is actually wanting to participate in World PVP. Out of those 100, only 5 players on one side might be seeking out PVP, whereas 30 players on the other side.
You also don’t know who is grouping up, who is solo, etc.

This is why I miss PVP servers. Back in the day, people had server / faction pride. If someone was having a hard time, others would band together and assist, often ending up in large scale PVP.

In Warmode, you just turn WM off if you’re not on the favorable side.

When players form groups, which most PvP players do in wpvp, the game system is designed to pull those folks onto the same layer and server.

The players know this, so if they find themselves in an oppressive scenario where they’re vastly outnumbered they’ll disband and reform with a different lead to get onto a “fairer” server. Even if it’s the same server, the disband and reform can land them on a friendlier layer.

The layering and server transitions are, by themselves, a mini game that players use to advantage in wpvp.

I wish warmode was a commitment and had a set amount of time after being turned on where it can’t be turned off

Because there is like 10 pvpers left in this game and they are all sweats

Can’t do that in combat anymore.

Wait wait wait, they actually fixed that so people can’t nope out while in PvP combat in the world?

Yes sir! A couple months ago near season start.

really. You only need balance in layers on a cake so it doesn’t fall over.
