Why are the Darkspear such poor losers

It seems Blizzard has a seething hatred against every troll tribe in the game. Not only killed they off all of their notable leaders, even the faciton aligned folks aren’t safe from harm here. They replaced the gigachad Vol’jin with that powerless hobo called Rokhan who has not done a damm thing since he was elrected the new leader. I don’t know why at all.

Let us speculate why Trolls, who are arguably the most interesting race that Blizzard ever designed, continue their streak of Ls until now.

You know what ill bite. Screw it. Given their innate natural regeneration abilities Trolls never developed a concept of their wounded in battle being casualties. Afterall if you got injured you could sleep it off and go to the next battle the following day without a care in the world. As warfare evolved and became more advanced, trolls had no incentive to create plate armor, or metalurgy based weapons because they were so used to their OP regeneration abilities carrying the. Being able to overwhelm most foes with superior numbers. But now that they had to fight humans and elves with better magic and armor, they quickly got rolled because their battle tactics and war culture is out dated, old and unable to change with the times.

Yeah its a headcanon but its more fun than just typing “because blizzard doesnt care”.

This is currently my get to explanation for everything. Blizzard doesn’t care about the Horde at all.

If they didn’t revert basically all the industrial progress made in Cata-Wod in lieu of throwing orc/trolls back in leathers, itd be neat seeing certain races lean into their racial traits in a way that works with more modern warfare

Trolls could probably make amazing snipers since pot shots and indirect artillery won’t bring em down, and they are weatherized so they can hunker down anywhere for hours without great discomfort.

Similarly, give tauren miniguns.

Oh man the BFA cinematic gave me such high hopes for this. Armored human footmen in formation with Dwarven riflemen functioning essentially as pike and shot. Working together in a way that combines their unique racial identity in a way thats awesome to watch.

Nah heres more questlines where we follow the wow avengers around forever.

Didn’t you hear Baine? That’s not honorable.

I’ve been banging the drum forever about the need to bring (non-faction) war back to warcraft for years. Showing the factions in their actual in-lore glory and not just a handful of grunts or footmen standing around waiting to be killed by the other faction. We’ve met so very many groups that literally stop mattering the second the expansion ends, lets focus on the groups people actually care about.

Give me an open front raging across a zone where npcs are holding the line. The opening of TBC and Wrath with the Dark Portal/Warsong hold under attack were great.

BFA, the actual “war” expansion started with 2 cakewalk invasions, and then just traded off war crimes. It sucked, and the war didn’t do jack to advance either faction in an interesting or positive way.

A lot of it is pride, some of it is bad luck, but mostly it’s that Trolls have a history of conflict and antagonism with every other race to exist on the planet. They’ve made enemies of just about everyone. They’re set in their ways, refuse to change, and think the world should conform to their vision of what it should be. They’d gladly commit genocide against every other race out there to regain the empires they lost long ago.

Notably, it’s when we see these mindsets and attitudes change that the Trolls achieve some measure of progress and benefit, such as the Darkspear joining the Horde. Even the Zandalari, for all they lost by allying with the Horde, gained where they otherwise would’ve fallen.

Now that is some actual constructive criticism. Thank you.

That was a very neat thing that felt so natural. Similarly that one tauren just going all out and breaking an entire entrenched position just by himself and killing people just by goring them with the horns. If you are on that fight it must be something FRIGHTENING to watch happen.

Taurens break the frontline apart, orcs and trolls flood in right after. Forsakens make rain chemicals with catapults while blood elfs burn anyone foolish enough to come close down to a crisp. Cheffs kiss

When they are not up to vodoo and bad mojo they are fighting anyone they can find. Terrible neighbors, really.

I want the Forsaken to develop WW1 tactics. They don’t need to eat or sleep and already live in coffins and damp crypts so trench warfare should probably feel like any given Tuesday.

And then there’s just the matter of creating chemical weapons that don’t effect them by virtue of not having to breathe.

Darkspear are canonically the smallest tribe which might be the reason Blizzard has a hard time to write anything good or cool for them. At all.
