He was there in the War of the Ancients, originally
Stupid WoW lore and their retconning and changing/adding things up all over… I’m just gonna go buy chronicles 1-3 and take that lore as canon going forward as well as most recent xpacs.
Laziness.
Tauren even remotely considering joining the Alliance is bad fanfic.
Like, you don’t get to be the faction that murders Tauren villagers so you can loot their burial grounds in peace and then proclaim that it makes sense for them to join you.
Honestly, don’t even bother with Chronicles either. They’ve already retconned some things from the first one, and the third one is just a retelling of everything we already know while exaggerating things like Garrosh.
You’re better off just taking the lore as it goes and not looking into every detail.
I, for one, never said that the Tauren should join the Alliance. I am firmly on the side of them staying with the Horde or going their own way. I only came into the conversation to point out insane of a leap your logic took.
haha that’s a fair point. The lore has been really messy over all and doesn’t make sense quite often. This whole tauren thing, I haven’t seen night elves having any other connection with them besides Wota then and even then , that was before the sundering. Perhaps they figured the tauren died?
Because after the sundering, they abandoned feralas and stayed in ashenvale and north where tauren were south in the plains and went to desolace. So, I’m not sure if they even really knew or bothered to know them, same as the tauren, they kind’ve just did their own thing.
all elves are pretty much known to be isolationists in their history and kept to themselves. Blood elves too. Only really helped because they’d get attacked by trolls and orcs then request aid in the 2nd war.
Yeah. They never really shared a connection outside of both of them being blessed with druidism… Even then, Tauren were only made to fit into druids because they wanted to add druidism to the game so badly but felt awful about only giving them to one faction. That is really the extent of them helping each other out. Besides the demon invasion 10,000 years ago.
Why is this considered “new” for tauren behavior they have always been calm peaceful alternative to the headstrong orc war machine mentality going back to even vanilla. You horde isn’t the iron horde…its the frostwolf horde…“Strength in Family”. Too many seem to complain about being, or not wanting to be, a villain faction then your own populace pushes for just that. I guess the internal struggle is what is part of horde than anything else.
Yeah, I often took it as the ones that learned druidism pretty much cared more about their way of life rather than their race at that point and felt their duty to be druids and nature, kind’ve not having close ties to their race as much or at least drastically reduced interaction.
Did have to pretty much give them equal stuff between the races haha. I don’t really recall much about the whole tauren druid history stuff besides Hamuul but he always felt shoehorned in for tauren druid involvement with firelands until Legion, then he actually really helped out with druids.
They like to give horde at least 1 notable druid per race.
There’s a middle ground between Baine’s “Oh well you killed a few of our villages, I forgive you, here’s a piece of my horn” and going full Garrosh/Sylvanas.
Most Horde players want that middle ground.
It’s all Hamuul. Only Hamuul.
pretty much lol they like to staple him into a lot of druid things recently for the horde representation at least.
Because the writing for the Horde sadly is…bad. As you can see though by this thread, most players really dobt care for good writing.
With Sylvanas to be specific. Saurfang says as much during the final cutscene when he is staring up at the Horde soldiers on the parapets prepared to defend Orgrimmar.
Funny how the edgiest pro horde comments are coming from blood elves.
Makes you want to pinch their cheeks, pat them on the head and say “That’s nice dears, but please be quiet while the real horde are talking”
Because the orcs likes they’re pork and they can trust them not to eat allot of “beef”!
Tauren can leave the Horde, but only if Worgen take their place.
Yeah, like the Alliance would take the Tauren in.
Some members of the Alliance would see some Tauren as a walking steak atm.
Please say we have to do a faction betrayal quest chain to join
Rigid two faction system. You’ll never see any race leave or change sides because of it.
