There’s not a shortage of tanks, there’s a shortage of people willing to tank for you. This is facts. Honestly the only run I’d ever charge for is Strat Live. The rest I run for giggles, usually for guildies that need it.

Your question makes no sense. Blizzard is not part of this. It’s an activity between players. Blizzard gets no cut.

No you literally can’t. You’re a druid. Its actually impossible to tank the end of BWL as that class. Go watch some Skarm and learn to actually play your class.
Bear’s can tank just fine. We have a fantastic bear tank in my guild, he even tanks some in MC and BWL.
He’s going to reply and say “I’m a great OT!”
The thing is who cares about an OT? If I miss my raid as MT another warrior becomes MT. If Kalwhatever’s MT misses raid, raid is cancelled cause of Nefarian druid call. So is he really a tank, or just a warm body tanking trash cause they happen to not need a healer.

Um, yes, I literally can. Go watch some streams, there have been plenty of druids tanking in BWL. Will I tank absolutely everything in it? No, probably not, especially not Nef since he’d turn me into a cat during my class call. But I can guarantee you I will be a part of the tank rotation on most of the fights.

I have MT’d literally every single boss in MC, easily, nice try though girlfriend.

We don’t have enough information on how the op is presenting this. There could be other factors. Like: Reserved X item ->tank says I want $$$.
Aside from prot pally, tanks suck at making gold.
Even then, prot pally needs specific(and often expensive) gear to make it worthwhile over regular farming in a DPS spec.
There’s also the fact that a lot of dungeon bosses don’t have anything beneficial for a tank. Strat live is an example of this for warriors and paladins, so they’ll just reserve the first orb, because otherwise there’s no reason for them to want to be there outside of offspec loot.
This problem only increases when tanks get raid geared, and no longer have any need whatsoever to do dungeons.
Tanks get abused by pugs. Tanks dont pug anymore. Yall created this problem yourselves. Enjoy.

You’re not tanking for me. You’re tanking for you and for money. And in order for you to get those loot you need us. Dont you f---- come here saying you wouldnt be tanking if you were not getting 60g per scholo run.
I mean, you tanks are so damn greedy that you even need roll against someone for something worth 3g. Dont even bother asking first if someone needs it.
a) have you levelled a warrior, mate?
b) if yes, did you tank regularly / often / rarely as you levelled?
c) if you did tank at least regularly, did you find that you had more / less / same responsibility for the group and more / less / same amounts of fun?
d) did you have more / less / same amounts of repair bills?
e) did you get more / less / same amounts of criticism from other group members while levelling?
f) did you find yourself more / less frustrated tanking in dungeons?

This lvl 58. I have a 60 Orc Hunter, and I was a feral bear in Vanilla.
About 50/50. If I was on the bottom half of the level range for the dungeon I tried to find a dps spot instead. Also, sometimes I’d let a paly leveling prot tank instead, because I leveled Arms and could comfortably fill either tank or dps role well
Tank has somewhat more responsibility. This can be shared with a knowledgeable healer or ranged DPS who’s willing to mark on the fly or whatever. It’s been a long time since I tanked some of these instances and a gentle reminder was always welcome.
Notable that a tank cannot just ride along and pew pew like I can on my 60 hunter. That said, I enjoy quietly making the run go more smoothly while dpsing, hitting hamstring on runners, smacking totems, hitting a quick growl on a mob going for heals, etc.
Warrior has higher repair bills bc plate. I don’t recall repair bills being an issue as a bear in vanilla.
The only time I’ve been mad about repair bills so far was last night when the healer in my pug kept going randomly afk and just letting me die. He felt bad and slipped me a couple of gold (I didn’t ask, he just … I mean I dunno what was going on, but he was a flake not a jerk).
I also have to buy consumables for my warrior, going without health potions is just irresponsible when a quick pot can save everyone from a wipe. I don’t really have to buy much for my hunter, I make my own ammo and food/water I can buy or get from a friendly mage.
I’ve gotten some criticism as a warrior, much of it deserved and helpful? I actually ask for feedback because I love being a good tank. If you’re out there pugging you should be able to tolerate the odd grumpy or simply wrong player. Just like these forums? There was one priest that said I was taking too much damage in Mauradon – I was trying to tank some packs with a two hander, and swapped to shield and did it boring after that. But to be honest, I think he just wasn’t very good at healing either.
I love tanking pug dungeons, always have. It’s hard mode. You have to whip a little team into shape sometimes. You have to react when the unpredictable happens. You are a much better player if you push yourself out of your comfort zone.
I find myself much more frustrated out in the world. With a healer, I am a god. Without one I am not particularly dangerous.
Well, he doesn’t tank Nef obviously, but he’s tanking Vael, Firemaw, and Ebonrok
