Just wondering why this is a thing in Wrath since I remember before getting a lot more than 32
I think affliction using drain soul as a dps spell had something to do with it. 32 is more than enough for any activity.

Not sure, could dig around for a Ghostcrawler answer.
But the change to limit soul shards to 32 happened with Ulduar.
You can summon the entire raid with one shard now too.
Affliction uses drain soul as a finisher.
You don’t need more than 32 shards unless you’re spamming soul fire.
Might be capped at 32 because WotLK’s soul bag is a 32 slot bag (Abyssal Bag)

I think they capped simply due to the fact that you no longer need nearly as many shards as you used to.
You get both summon stone and soul well now.
2 per wipe - SS + Cookies
But why cap it…that idk
Now that Affliction is using drain soul during execute in order to prevent you from filling your bags every boss it’s been capped.
Imagine your bag after Patchwerk or Thaddius, etc.
