Why are PvPers angrier about needing some PVE for gear

It seems like any time PvPers have to do any non PvP activity for even a trinket they end up flying off the handle threatening to quit, never come back, etc.

Any time PvEer have to PvP there are a few salty posts but its NO WHERE NEAR the level of salt that gets spilled when its the other way.

I’ve never understood either mentality. I’m a primarily PvE player but I’ll do some occasional PvP just to change things up. It doesn’t hurt to dip your toes into other waters.

:carrot:

reverse the idea, what if you wanted to push high ended raiding, YOU HAD NO OTHER CHOICE then to get 2200 (or what ever mythic ilvl is now a days) rating for gear

if this is still to vague for you, we can narrow it down, think the ONLY weapons available no matter the ilvl was from pvp, how would you like that as a pve players?

Because forcing people to “dip their toes into other waters” leaves a bitter taste when you already know what content you like/don’t like.

Weird thread.

Were you here in Pandaria? The tears over a few BGs for a legendary cloak quest were glorious. It’ll never be as bad as what PvPers endured in BFA.

Don’t get it and get some other piece of gear thats close enough.

PVPers are almost all perpetually angry about something. this is just a convenient target.

mostly jk guys :cowboy_hat_face:

pvpers just don’t seem to understand they are not the focus in this PvE game. They’re always shocked when they have to play the main game to progress their side game.

this is the situation pvp’rs face constantly

Because PVP is what they enjoy, it’s their endgame content of choice.
Forcing them to do something that they don’t enjoy is terrible.
Im in the same boat, all i wanna do is M+, and never step foot into a raid, save for farming mythic BoEs.

Having to do PvE at the highest level in order to be productive in casual PvP is what’s destroying PvP. Keep making excuses why it’s a good thing to force casuals to do mythic raiding if it makes you feel better. No doubt your main earns a good living selling real money carries.

See Pandaria when PvP participation rivaled PvE or even WotLK onward and the rise of it’s popularity (The Devs even stated this).

It only became this when we lost Ghostcrawler.

Guess you weren’t around for MoP legendary cloak quest.

This was the case just 7 months ago when Mythic Castle Nathria launched. All the world first guilds were grinding PvP rating to get to 2400 so raiders would have the 233 weapon and the PvP trinkets as those were BIS for a few classes.

Ideally the two should be kept separate but Blizz likes to push players into other aspects of the game whether we like it or not. They really need to bring back a PvP only stat like Resilience or something similar that is offered on only PvP gear and add it to the jewelry slots to (trinkets, rings). Something like this would make PvP gear valuable for PvP and PvE gear not, and vice versa.

You werent here last xpac then.

Yeah they really should. The problem with this is that it’s the logical solution and they don’t seem to use those very often anymore.

I’m almost exclusively PvE at this point. I enjoyed PvP in MoP, but when they removed Resilience and PvP vendors I stopped PvPing.

I think it’s fine to offer a carrot to get players to try a different content pillar; let them stay if they like it.

I think it’s terrible to beat them with a stick that says “you will be significantly disadvantaged in the content you like if you fail to do this other content you don’t like (and at a competitive level; tough luck casuals, you’re profit margin isn’t worth it to us).”

Oh no, such a terrible thing.

That was sarcasm btw.

The same reason i was angry about having to PVP for blood of the enemy. Some people only like one side or the other.

Because blizzard can’t leave well enough the f alone. PvP was perfect in MoP/WoD, but they felt the need to force PvP players to gear through PvE for all of Legion and BFA, they ruined the vendors in SL, and after one season of PvP being faster to gear than PvE they seaparated the systems like they said they didn’t want to. Now PvP is utterly ruined and PvE players get to go back to treating PvP like a second class citizen.

Right. Which part am I supposed to assume was insincere?

PVP gear right now feels punishing to use in PVE while PVE gear is powerful in PVE and PVP.

The scaling up of PVP gear may work with conquest gear but with honor gear it is a complete flop so far.

Doesn’t help that PVP honor gear has two renown gates and gobs of honor to upgrade.
