Yea, I can’t seem myself complaining about cash shops unless it gets agressive with loot boxes or other gacha/gambling mechanics. Those do bug me. Still, those aren’t uncommon. If a developer’s practices really do bother you … There really is only one good way to let them know your frustations.
Spoiler alert: It’s not going to be making grumpy posts on an internet forum already filled with grumpy posts.
Looks at the SL transmog sets coming… bursts out laughing
Unless you have confirmed insider information concerning how Bliz allocates their resources… stop spreading conspiracy theories. Bliz already stated that the cash shop pays for itself and some. As in the artist that contribute to it are paid from it… That’s not a loss of resources for the game.
Now if you want to argue for more in-game cosmetics to achieve without the cash shop… Then they WILL be dipping into their resources for the game.
Again… break out the hard facts and I’ll rescind this line of reasoning, because without them… you’re just a conspiracy theorist.
On another note… loads of players are getting the xmog for free via their renewing subscription. Something that has absolutely nothing to do with the cash shop.
Still people shouldn’t get toxicity sent their way for playing the game as they wish. like another forum poster said their friend quit the game because of toxicity towards the tmog.
More like "I can’t afford it and I don’t want to put in effort to get it for free ,I just want it handed to me instead because I pay a whole $15 a month "
It’s also not going to be people hassling players who have the mog. People are allowed to be upset, but their frustration should be turned towards the company and business practice; not the people who are wearing the outfit.
Everyone has the same access. Everyone can either:
farm gold
spend real money
Whether or not a subscription game should have a cash shop is 100% opinion.
If people want to collect shop items, they’re free to farm gold. The token value fluctuates, but not wildly enough to really be an issue (especially with how easy it is to farm gold these days).
Yes I’m subscribed to the game and pay for the expansion. It’s only fair that people like me, namely you and others should be able to obtain it without additional money through in game effort without resorting to tokens.
No. I’m not whining. I’m stating the right compromise for everyone who’s already paying for their subs and expansion.
Not my problem you are too deluded and just keep calling names.
Good. Then you agree with me that paying for the expansion and sub is the support they need to provide the transmogs in game.
I agree. That’s not going to solve any thing. It’s childish at best.
Really, there’s only one option for people like Dal who seem to have a problem with this kind of thing.
They should stop playing. Stop paying a sub. When you quit, you get to take a little survey explaining why. Put the cash shop as the reason why. Go play something else.
If there’s enough people who do this, then maybe Blizzard will change their practices.
It’s unfair mostly because tokens are a flimsy solution and add a additional moving burden to the already unstable gold value which Blizzard either nerfs or adds every expansion.
Now do you see why I cannot accept the tokens as a solution?
It’s not a crime to buy a cash shop item, blizzard isn’t going to suddenly poof turn this into some BDO p2w mmo lul . It’ll still be the same . If blizz wanted that they would have changed that by now .
