Why are people so upset at new ah mount?

yeah, if youre not farming all day long and constantly running to the AH…or flipping and running the AH all day long, it would likely be a waste of money to buy this mount

I got it because I do farm all day long many days and having to port over to my garrison or dalaran to sell bags of crap, then making my way back to where I was farming is time consuming.
This just saves me a lot of wasted time running back and forth, so for my game it as worth it.

true but billionaires can throw money around like it is nothing lol

Did you just read what you typed? You are literally proving my point.

lmao…no son, I didnt.
and if you think I did you should consider working on those cognitive skills. lol

to recap…

if you cant figure out the problem there even with my highlighting it for you, then I think you should definitely take my suggestion above. :+1: :+1:

Seems like the storeboi bruto angst has mostly passed. In another month, hardly anyone will be talking about this, unless Blizzard kicks the bee’s nest and adds another similar mount come Feb.

There’s almost 600 posts in this thread so I am sure SOMEONE has brought it up by now, but I’m not reading through all that to make sure–

It’s not a “microtransaction” it is a macrotransaction (sometimes called mega transaction). The term emphasizes that these are larger, premium-priced purchases, far exceeding the small amounts typically associated with microtransactions.

Another commonly used term is whale purchases or whale-targeted items, since these high-cost items are often marketed toward “whales”—players who spend significantly on in-game purchases.

The short answer to why the anger, imo, is that this sort of thing is all about corporate greed, but does nothing for the normal players.

Then there is the effect the mount can have on rated content. The mailbox on that mount is the only one usable in rated content-- a player without this mount has to leave the instance to use the ah and then receive items they bought. Which means that this mount allows someone to overcome the l2p mistake of not coming prepared.

because the people i see getting the maddest are those living on gov assistance in mom’s basement - ie, sponging off society rather than working and contributing - and thus a $90 extra expense is pretty hefty

and yes, these will be the people who will flame this response the most with their entitlements.

if you have a job and make your own way in life,
then a $90/month is like eh, i’ll commit a bit extra over the next 3 months to my hobby and get it, not a big deal.

What I suspect is that they will add something similar to this mount to the trading post around that time… And THAT is when they will fix it so you can’t use the mailbox in rated content. lol

insults aside, I agree with this part of it.
I have a comfortable income. I spend a substantial amount of $$$ every year on my hobbies.

a few hours overtime would pay for this mount. 3-5 hours easy for many…IF they even need and want it.

For those who cant afford because they dont work…its like 1.5 million gold or so to buy it thru the token system. …so NO ONE was left out of being able to get it for 1/5 the effort of the first one.

The fit tossing over it is more drama than any of this required.

You know, there is a certain irony in a dancer (to put it politely) from Moon Guard, currently in uniform, talking about sponging off of society.

Wild that this is supposed to be a reasonable take. A few hours of extra work- time that could have been spent in-game -just to buy a mount. And it’s required to put in those hours before the new year. And that’s money you could have been spent on holiday gifts for others.

I’m happy to spend money on my hobbies at my discretion. I’m not happy to be coerced into it and face these silly post-rationalizations of “just work more.” I’d rather play more.

But Blizz will milk the panda as long as they can… and it seems like they can.

go whine at someone else son.
THIS IS A HOBBY…YOU ARENT REQUIRED TO EVEN BE HERE PLAYING IT lmao.

If you want the mount…BUY it…if not, stop whining

That’s also even assuming your work will let you work more. Most places do not let you work OT on the clock, and if you’re salaried, you can work as many hours possible and still not get paid for it lol

Liolang is the most unemployed person on these forums. I wouldn’t take anything they say as fact or grounded in reason lmao

Why are people so upset at new ah mount?[/quote]

Basically it boils down to this:

A super useful and cool mount like the AH / mailbox dino is something that could be put in the game that requires a bunch of in-game grinding.

Maybe it could be the mount you get for some sort of meta achievement that requires players to do a ton of in game activities such as M+, raids, PvP, world quests, delves, etc.

If a mount like this existed to be grinded in game, a bunch of people would be playing this game to try to earn it. WoW is a MMO, where the people playing make up the world we all enjoy. Without the people, it’s less of an experience.

Therefore, by putting the mount in the store, you are losing some number of players from Azeroth that is greater than 0 and less than infinity who would otherwise be playing WoW.
