Why are people hating on bfa so much?

Ok fixed it for you

Frankly the story and setting get boring quick. And there is no new content that is any fun.

People tend to react that way when they’re forced to watch something they once loved reduced to a shallow grindfest that is mediocre at best in almost every way.

as everyone else pointed out with AP, HoA and Az Gear, ill add the GCD changes slowing many specs down, makes em feel clunky. they have fixed a few things with that, but still.

ill also add in flying taking way longer to be added… and Professions quite simply suck now. except Alch/Herb, everything else just doesnt feel that rewarding. Recipe ranks add nothing except having to craft more of the same item to level up your skill, and cost slightly less to craft… doesnt change the item at all, just takes slightly less materials to make… its horrible…

that used to be my endgame, dialies, alts and professions. and i had fun and enjoyed myself and i enjoyed making things for friends or someone looking for armor or gems or whatever. it is not enjoyable now.

Because they did an amazing job with Legion, then took a ton of good things away for BFA and wondered why people are un-happy.
The whole focus of the expansions un-arguably has been the faction war and new playable races.

Faction war - terribly written with amazing characters doing a 180 from what they were built on or just making stupid decisions

Allied races - re-skins with a few new customization than regular races, take forever to make, and require you to either level a new character to play or $$$ to change an existing character

I think the better question is, why shouldn’t people hate BFA? Anyone have any reasons?

I disagree.

Further pruning from WoD
Slot machine gear
Grinding artifact power
Insanely RNG Legendaries
Mission tables (Yes i know these were in garrisons but they still annoy me)

These systems are reminiscent of mobile games and predatory tactics they use to keep people in the game.

I didn’t say everything in Legion was perfect.

To call it an amazing job is a bit generous. I guess it’s a matter of opinion though

Yup. I hated almost everything they did to PvP during Legion, but they made up for it with other things. Personally I enjoyed the Nightborn questline, something I’ve never normally enjoyed.

The mage tower was amazing. The first time I felt almost truly compelled to work towards something I really wanted.

Mage tower was definitely a nice addition.

Personally the only thing I really liked about Legion were the PvP templates.

That was one of the things I hated most. PvP templates were awful. They forced every class to play exactly the same. It took away a LOT of variety in builds people would do.

People just like to whine and make mountains out of molehills.

By builds you mean icyveinsdotcom what stats should i stack for maximum viability?

PvP templates atleast set an even footing for people wanting to jump in regardless of whether their stats were geared specifically for PvE or not. It also meant someone like myself, could swap between playing disc priest and shadow priest without having to carry around multiple gear sets.

At the end of the day all removing PvP templates has done is create an alt unfriendly environment in the PvP scene.

from a story telling standpoint, there was no reason for anything to happen after sargeras was defeated. y’shaarj is dead, c’thun and yogg-saron can just be revealed to be dead since they were defeated several expansions ago, and n’zoth is the weakest of the 4, anyways.

anyone that’s left, barring the void lords who are untouchable, aren’t good followup villains to sargeras or kil’jaeden.

All templates did was make PvP boring as hell. I had every char at 110 and PvP was boring on every single one of them.

Removing templates was the best thing. Not everything has to be alt friendly. If you want to do it, work for it. If you don’t, then don’t? There’s nothing wrong with just wanting to stay in raid finder, buddy.

OK BUDYY! 10char

templates were great while leveling in BG’s, it didnt hurt so much if you out leveled some gear. but at max level, i agree, i would have liked the old pvp gear and working on stats i liked better, instead of what Blizz felt i needed.

Yup!

PvP Templates werne’t perfect. No such thing as a perfect system. But they were a good idea and I think they probably gave inspiration to the groundwork for Warmode.

Which I will admit has warts that need to be dealt with. Blizzard dropped the ball and didn’t make Warmode engaging. It boils down to being little more than a virtual “pvp realm”

When it could have been so much more.
