Why Are People Already Tired of Alleria?

One thousand+ years old and she still behaves like a 17 year old child.

Made that 4 coz Sylvanas is coming back.

Sylvanas hasn’t been a protagonist since before BfA. She was the antagonist in BfA, a sidekick of the enemy in SL, and wasn’t involved in either DF or TWW in any way, shape, or form.

It’s hard to be “the protagonist of four expansions in a row” when you weren’t a protagonist for two of them and effectively didn’t exist for the other two.

I’m just worried they won’t write her well when she is back. It’s very frustrating being a sylvanas fan lol.

Because I don’t care about the Void.

She hasn’t been written well since the Cata remake, I would think people are used to it by now.

The writers mess her up or have her be useless in order to make the more “evil” or morally complex characters stand out and be better and edgier. It just gets old. They do the same thing to Turalyon and Velen. The only time I can remember where she effectively stands up to Xal is the cliche ‘I wasn’t aiming at you’ comment, most of the time she just lets Xal hurt her feelings and gets angry and runs away and acts useless. Then again Xal wasn’t much better with her overly dramatic and campy “Nooooo!”

I just don’t like the writing or plot in this game, never have really. There wasn’t any story I really related or resonated with much. I just play for the gameplay.

And just because she’s a legacy character or she’s supposed to be important, I don’t think that means anything to them sadly. They like to pervert everything (and not always in a good way wink)

I mean she was badly written in parts of classic. I liked her in WC3 and parts of BC. She was fine in Legion. BFA was a crime.

Because her little temper tantrums are annoying, and she’s a poorly written character.

Also, she’s an elf.

I think disliking a character b/c she’s an elf is weird tbh.

I dislike her b/c of the awful personality.

I’m tired of her because she just feels like Generic High Elf NPC Ranger with Dark Magic as her gimmick. She’s boring, and doesn’t even have a backstory that’s different.

She’s also part of the Windrunner Trio along with Sylvanus and Tiffany and my god and heaven can we have any sort of lore in a different cast member? I’d have even gone with Turalyon if it meant expanding on the Army of the Light which comes out of nowhere at the end.

I think characters need to be likable sometimes, even if they’re bad/evil. I don’t think her angst is warranted. Whenever she’s losing her chill she’s just talking about being a mom.

She’s what we like to call a karen.

She’s not fun.

Speaking of Vereesa-- that is another character who seems like she’s dead because we never know anything about what’s going on with her lol.

She was barely written about at all in classic, which looking back seems like a blessing.

I didn’t enjoy the way they changed the character after ICC, but while I did like the character previously I wasn’t a “fan” so maybe the changes weren’t for me. And I guess most people don’t look that deep into WoW writing anyway. :dracthyr_shrug:

Because she’s very one dimensional and the writing has been boring. Also no one asked for or likes the edgelord new outfit that they gave her for no reason. Hopefully they improve her arc in Midnight but I somehow doubt it seeing as Microsoft laid off most of the writing team.

Alleria is basically Illidan 2.0.

She’s Alliance and thus a dull, milquetoast bore.

The cata stuff would have been fine if they just committed to her being chaotic neutral and they actually showed that the forsaken were constantly getting aggrieved by scarlets and zealots but that angle was dropped.

They really needed to bring up that Genn caused a lot of the population becoming forsaken due to his wall.

and that right there is why she annoys me as a horde player: why am i always having to kowtow to alliance heroes every dang expansion. heck, i had to wait tables for them in DF, i mean come on man!

I meant more about they way they changed her motivations. Yeah the making her “arthas lite” was cringe too, but I meant more them changing her into a character driven by fear rather than her righteous rage. With Arthas gone they had to do something with her, I just didn’t like the direction they chose.

Because she’s that female character in every horror movie ever, that makes horrible choices, watches her friends get killed, then runs off again to make her next stand where she will need to be rescued…again
Probably going to face down Xal in a shed full of chainsaws next…
