Why are paladins so popular?

I see a lot of people saying the tier 2 judgement armor looks amazin.

Are you guys on crack??? Its horrendous lol. I’ve always thought it was would looking. You look like you went out for Halloween as a book

I have had this guy since my first day.
why?
I have always enjoyed the paladin mindset. Devoted crusader out to defend the innocents wielding the light and martial prowess. I have been Paladin, or its equivalent, in almost every game because they tend to be one of the most self reliant classes around. This guy, I don’t have to worry about him (or my DK) when things get rough. I weave HotP/LotP in with my rotation, maybe a few flashes of light, and i make heals job easier to heal the bad DPS standing in bad.

It wasn’t until recently I moved over to maining my DK because one weapon is easier to get than a wep and shield. I still keep him relatively geared (my DK is 386 this guy 381) and usually level him first on everything. Because I still like my shining knight mentality.

Because we’re awesome.

Okay, a serious answer: heals and armor buffs. The Protection specialization has turned this character into a teeny tiny walking tank. Great for questing and I play the role of meatshield in a party.

A blessed book, w/ a sword for a bookmark.

My raid team needed one.

Human Male Paladin checking in.

Paladins are popular among people who are always right about everything as it pertains to forum discussion.

They’re pretty and bring a lot of utility and at certain points of the game’s history have been strong in different roles and are pretty.

Basically the only reason I ever play my prot pally alt, lol.

Have you played one, lately?

Gone are the days of classic WoW and pallies surviving off auto hits in PvP.

They’re now what Arms Warrior used to be. Oh, and let’s not forget: no dependency on pocket healing. As a Fury Warrior, I find myself BT kiting them to barely survive their massive amount of dps dealing.

YES! A Warrior needing to kite another class! But, it is what it is.

4 button rotation for tanking is pretty easy and bubbles, heals.

Pally was my first toon in vanilla and i still have one. I switched from alliance to horde back to alliance and in the process made a new one on the horde side. I have just always loved the pally even before WoW. I lost a little love in Vanilla because if you raided you were a healer and only a healer. I just wanted to crack heads with my Brain Hacker back then.

If only. Holy hasn’t seen any meaningful attention in multiple expansions.

Wings and big crits are fun :money_with_wings:

I probably should have said “my personal top 3.” I still think it was a very nicely designed set compared to some of the others, which made me “open-mouth stare”.

We aren’t talking about rogues though. And rets have a 7 button rotation.

Personally I feel like a Belf Blender in pvp as the procs on Divine Storm are ridiculous. Defending IBT the other day I got 6 DS procs in a row. It was just ridiculous and beautiful at the same time.

Meanwhile in pve all the fights seem set up to favor ranged with adds spawning at a ridiculous distance away. Not shocked RET Paladins have little to no representation in high end raiding.

I mained a death knight (90% of time unholy) for 10 years. After finally breaking out of the abusive relationship with blizzard that is being a dps dk I tried ret and fury and fell in love with the paladin class. From sounding like you’re beating someone with a broken skillet with Templar’s verdict to the awesome tier to the lore that is the Draenei pally I was good.

Also unlike unholy when I press a button on ret actual damage happens. Weeeeee

I think it’s because of the ease of our playability. The choices!

You can fall asleep on your keyboard = win!
You can let your cat play on your laptop = win!
You can let your 4 year old pretend they’re playing the piano = win!
Lost a contact lens at a bar after binge drinking, then get into a fight and have your fingers smashed in a car door, go home and decide to play your paladin = win!

Maybe Paladins look sexy

That’s like asking “why do Allies have shamans?” They tried the faction-exclusive classes in vanilla and it didn’t work out very well.
