Why are folks upset about SL?

There are several threads on the forum whining about it.

What loot are you afraid you’ll lose? Torghast stuff you can just hearthstone out if you’re afraid to die back outside. The Maw sounds like minor visions of N’Zoth, where we have a limited time there before the Jailer locks onto us and things get dicey, and we can only enter once a day.

It’s highly unlikely a zone like that will give you traditional loot that, if you lost it, would be permanently detrimental to your character.

The main issues is the added systems put in pace that are all grinding. Blizzard said they were trying to get rid of rng and grindfest mechanics but they actually added more grind mechanics than BFA has now.

that’s the thing, I hear “Systems” but IDK if that’s a euphamism for something or what.

Hmmm, how does a person lose loot in the maw? And are we not going to level through these system zones or do we do them at 60?

Visions was also an amazing event completely free of people running around using what ever enviromental thing they could to try and kill you to spoil your fun.

It’s a bad idea to create a playing field for this type of toxic behavior. If I wanted to PvP i’d turn my warmode on.

  1. People overreact. 2. “The player powers tied to covenants you can’t easily change” thing, while a really big deal, people are focused solely on that and it wasn’t addressed.

The things they did announce imo are hard to get upset about. And we’re mostly exciting.

People on GD think they should get participation mythic gear regardless of failure or success, so when a system is implemented involving risk and consequences they lose their mind

Waiting whistling

It was a very odd steam. You really had to be deeply aware of the alpha content to understand what was going on. Most of Blizzards comments seem to be targeted to the few hundred people who got alpha access. That everyone was fully aware of the Shadowlands leveling zones. They then focused on the most grindy parts of the expansion. Why would I care about Torgash keys if I never had access to the alpha.

What was exciting about the announcement? The beta? They could have just announced the beta in a blue post. Then all they showed was grindy systems and punishment system for making the wrong choice. Then they showed the Maw which looked almost exactly like Argus.

Systems inside systems inside systems inside systems. No real core changes to anything else, just more systems in systems. Most classes/specs are still mostly the same, for the worst.

Id rather have a timer than lose all the loot I spent time picking up because I made one mistake or the game bugs out. Getting DC, feared into a dodad, stuck, etc. We allready know Blizzard response will be “We appreciate you contacting us but we can not do anything in regards to loot in Toghast.”

For me it’s seeing all the systems they plan on rolling out at launch. BFA has too many systems. Kind of a system “bloat” that happened over time. If there’s too many at launch, how many will there be at the end? It makes things too complex, which ends up making alts largely unplayable, and has to be confusing to new players.

More quality content would be preferable to more systems imho. Even if it takes extra time to launch.

LOL. I like your point of view. But Truth hurts. Crybabies not getting anything free like BFA? Bad expansion. LOL.

Take BFA cloaks, essences, corruption, and azerite system. Add them in all to a new expansion at the same time. Then make it so once you pick your azerite traits your stuck with them and those traits dictate what corruption and essences you can use.

Then imagine if any of it got nerfed and you wanted to change, you’d have to start your grind all over from scratch and could never go back to using your old azerite traits should they happen to get buffed later.

That’s shadowlands covenant system.
