Why are DPS not courteous to healers?

L2manage mana pl0x kthxbai

“Why do players not respect each other?” would be a better title.

Sometimes DPS don’t respect tanks. “I’ll pull if you don’t”
Sometimes Healers don’t respect DPS. “I’m not healing you if you mess up.”
Sometimes Tanks don’t respect Healers. “I don’t care if you are out of mana/los I’m still pulling like crazy”

it would be so much smoother if everyone were on the same page.

Probably because you were standing in fire and just stepped out of it. :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Because way too many people handhold healers and praise them for no reason, so it has to balance out somehow.

Did you DPS on your free globals? Just need to know!

Truth.

It used to be better, a long while back. Nowadays? It seems like no one has ever heard of the concept of eating to regen, while the healer drinks for mana.

Eh, I’ve seen my fair share of tanks pulling mobs that do heavy aoe damage while I am sitting and drinking, and the dps are all at a quarter health. The wipes always make me eye-roll.

Stupid is as stupid does. If they can’t wait five seconds for me to drink a bit, they’re going to eat the repair bill and like it.

I will always try and stay near the healer so I can misdirect anything that turns on them back at the tank or toss my pet to off tank it until the tank can grab it.

this is one of the reasons i think everyone should play every role, at least enough to get a feel for it.

pls do. u wont regret it. i started sl and i hated it, classic one of the best mmos.
jsut about everything matters there and people have to think for each other.

I never have a bad word for a healer. Even a bad one. I did heals in guild wars one, to me it’s a thankless job that breaks immersion (staring at bars, not at characters) so anyone willing to do it is taking one for the team.

I am courteous, when everyone is topped I do damage whenever possible. Therefor if they have no need to do damage they should heal themselves as im getting mana.

“Maidenless fodder.”

…I’m stealing this.

This really only happens in m+ and IF there is a mage in the group to provide food.
Most don’t carry food these days. Even for the stat buff. Same with pots.

I tend to run defensives/self heal builds because I am used to either bad healers or pvp and having to survive.

So I’ll run improved healing, like second wind on my war, to have great out of combat regen or just flat regen during combat (if I don’t stand in bad and lose my buff). But how many players actually think like that in group content these days?

If you want food and pots to be really important, run higher tier content or swap to classic. Those kinds of content, you pretty much have to to push content correctly.

For a great many players, it’s not that they are trying to be rude, most of them are just not that good at the game. It’s just Hanlon’s razor.

You dont wanna try classic unless you wanna dump alot of gold on GDKP

It’s not impossible for it to be both.
I’m going to stop buying food/waters, hope there’s a mage in every group I’m in! Personal food is optional now as far as I can tell from this thread, kinda like full HP bars.

healer adjust

Its unfortunate but nobody pays attention to healer mana . if they do its very rare. Honestly though u should never go oom the whole run unless the group is messing up bad. Not knocking your skill, I don’t doubt that you are a good player but its just something that healers have to cope with. I know when I used to heal I had the same issue but later on got better at mana management and could go entire runs with being OK on mana. It may be class dependent but as a restored sham I could go into boss fights and large packs with 20% and be fine. Drinking at every opportunity helps a lot even if its just for a tick or two.

How are you running oom? The 4 set has reduced our mana use sooo much I never even need to drink even in 20s.
