My view is a variety of content is great for the game, but there should be some “reasonable” parity in difficulty vs rewards in all the content with each other.
It’s a bit funny because delves are doing what mythic+ previously did to raiding.
That’s a pretty fair approach and I can get behind this. However, reading the history of the person in question, they really are just having a spaz about delves in general rewarding anything decent.
Because there’s only one bot who can F things up for you instead of 4-29 other peons, I mean players. Try running with a full party, it’s a show and harder than Mythic+ because that one guy who could otherwise be compensated for by hitting your buttons harder will drain all your extra lives in the first room.
I don’t care about doing other content, I care that the game recommends being decently geared for delves just to find them perfectly doable 70+ ilvls in quest greens than recommended. It gives me the feeling there is no real progression beyond make my number bigger and delves easier. I feel like I’ve hit the peak in a single weekend.
Idk, I think this is the new norm as far as gear progression goes in delves.
There was some people completely against the rewards structure in season 1, and Blizzard doubled down on it instead of creating a harder hierarchy of rewards. They made it more accessible, and a notcch easier. So, I’m not sure they’re messing up their philosophy, I think their philosophy on gear is different for delves.
Delves being solo content makes it incredibly difficult to balance the way you seem to want. The only way to do it is to enforce a full party system, which absolutely nobody wants.
The players getting gear from delves will not interfere with your M+ and raiding groups, I promise you. Those players, especially the ones on the lower end of the skill scale that you don’t want in your groups, would rather chew on broken glass than run that type of group content.
Delves are great for solo players imo. I really only use them for tmogs and gilded now. Tbh I think Blizz has done an okay job balancing tier 11 as a step towards mythic 0, if somebody wanted to use that to practice their stuff a bit. Many of the enemies in delves exhibit the basic mechanics you may encounter in a dungeon. I think it does help raid awareness a bit.
I actually think delves are as difficult as Blizzard thinks they can make them, and still keep it so all classes, if not specs, can solo them.
But some just don’t realize that the ease of them, due to not being queued content, comes with the condition of “either at x ilvl or with a modicum of skill/paying attention”.
There are reasons why I prefer to do delves solo at least as tank toons, and I can recall something else that was easier solo then in a group of 5, Horrific Visions, I go the achievement for completing both SW and Org 5 mask because I was doing them solo after dealing with that 1 player that had to try and mongo the vision, draining the sanity and causing the group to get kicked out with little reward for it.
I just have to add on my hunter, in a full group, I am often laughing by rear end off as I am dodging and keeping myself alive while others are floor tanking and using up all the lives.
Pretty much. I don’t even bother equipping half of the stuff that does drop, and vendor the other half. I have ADHD super bad and plenty of times I’ll be starting a pull and the next thing I know I’m like ‘Oh crap I was playing wow’ and I’ll drive home, make a sandwich because I realize I’m hungry, and sit down and watch Netflix. Then my cat bothers me, and we will hang out for a bit. Eventually I remember about wow and I get back to my computer and I see that the delve is finished already and I got some more gear that I can vendor.
No thats not the only way. You know what the difference betweena tier 3 and a tier 4 is? Scaling.
They could scale considerably more at each breakpoint. You still have easy levels and then youve got medium levels and then you actually have the challenging levels for solo players.
Im not saying theyre messing up…I think its just a new feature that they NEED to do really well so it doesnt look like a flop. Easy way to do that is make it easier than LFR and but reward Heroic raid level gear
Thats not the purpose of delves. And Delves set you up for m+ 10s if thats the thought process youre standing behind.
Yes. This has been mentioned a few times. The one size fits all means it has to be tuned for the weakest link, making everything above said link seem OP in comparison.
Wish theyd release those numbers. For the most part we can see the numbers for pvp and raids and m+
