You WONT need them to be competitive in the pre patch. The system was adjusted with the lack of corruptions in mind. Whether or not they underestimated or overestimated is another story.
and thatâs the point though. once prepatch hits, the entire expansion and all of its content is basically irrelevant⌠invalid. That wasnât a thing in the past.
This is probably partly why theyâre doing it early. People are going to cry about it regardless, but theyâd rather get that out of the way before the expansion actually lands.
I wouldnt say irrelevant just yet. Azerite is still a thing, essences are still a thing. Just Corruptions are gone. Honestly, at this stage, most people are just leveling alts or gold farming at this point, getting ready for October.
Ignore what? The two that you seem to be using were released on the first and second week of the cycle. Most people had plenty of currency saved up because there was little to spend it on before the release of the corruption vendor. And it wasnât hard farming for the currency if you actually played more than just one aspect of the game. Iâve had full BIS corruptions for well over 2 months and I started with ZERO currency when the vendor was released (because I had all rank 4 essences and never was rewarded any currency to even save up). And my BIS corruption was up on the first cycle so I was already at a disadvantage.
Regardless, you contradicted yourself in the same post. At any rate, youâre a resto druid. Youâre going to be just fine in m+ without corruption for a measly 4 weeks.
I keep dreaming that theyâll magically disappear every Tuesday reset.
Welcome to WoW gearing last 3 expansions. Every new patch nothing you got before matters. Except transmogs.
The stuff I typed out?
You act like the vendor came out and we all instantly got everything we wanted. It took most of us months. And⌠lol. You think people bought everything they needed the first go around? Yikes.
Ah, good for you, for some of us, the corruption requirements changed as we hit different thresholds.
There was no contradiction.
They have to do a power reset every xpac. Otherwise weâd be at 100% crit, haste cap (casting faster than the gcd), and broken masteries which also normally have some caps.
Thatâs how itâs been forever. Theyâve always had catchup gear which âinvalidatesâ old content. Itâs not some recent thing.
Yeah it kills the replay value of the expansion, returning players will just skip it for better expansions via chromie time and new players will feel punished being forced to play through BFA.
BFA is going to be so dead once chromie time is released.
You mean where you contradicted yourself in the same post?
Again, most people had thousands of the currency saved up before the vendor was even released. I didnât and even I was able to get almost full BIS months ago.
Oh really?
The vendor was released 3 months ago. How is that NOT a contradiction?
At any rate, Iâm sorry that you are upset itâs going away. Iâm not, and my entire raid team is happy itâs going away as well. Corruption was a terrible system. It needs to go.
First 3 expansions no, until trial of crusader, but even then, until mop/wod it was fine, only then did they start resetting each patch. Which sucks for content since all previous raids are irrelevant, they shoot themselves in a foot.
First let me apologize. Iâm sorry for being snarky. Iâm not dismissing what youâve done Iâm dismissing the attitude youâre showing here. Look at threads about covenants. In all of them I defend people who like to min/max. Many of my guildies like to min/max and push high end keys. Not the guild this character is in, Iâm switching mains for SL.
However I digress. The attitude here is what adds fire to all those who attack min/maxers. Just like 3 months ago a DH soloâd a +26 or was it a +27 key. Soloâd it. So why does a complete group of 5 need to be bleeding in corruption to do high keys?
I get the disappointment and I do support you in a way. Instead of⌠how many post are we at now? Instead of us both wasting time here talking about something Blizzard isnât going to change now, maybe join the other threads letting Blizzard know weâve had enough of the borrowed power.
Look at what it has done. Players such as yourself have grinded relentlessly to get just the right corruption only to see it go poof weeks after the system Blizz put in hit itâs max. All players will find out on pre patch and even more so on Oct 26th what itâs actually like when itâs just the gear and them. No corruption, no traits, no neck. Even without corruption at all just losing the traits and the neck is huge. Iâd say even worse than when we lost the artifact weapons.
I was someone who was happy to hear near the end of Legion tier gear was going away. That is until I heard about Azerite gear. Like wtf? Just keep the tier. I was hoping straight out gear 2 primary stats, 2 secondary stats. Thatâs it. Just the gear, the enchants they left us with and nothing else. Give it more of a âitâs me and not the gearâ to the game.
Again I do feel for you and others doing the same. We just need to focus elsewhere now cause this one is a battle the players already lost.
The squish will be here and new leveling, those would be 100% broken with corruption so it has to go.
But that does put some fire under you if you want to time the M15 set for the mount and arenât normally a M15+ player. (Me included).
I know the decision was already made, but imo they should have either:
A) let corruption stay until SL launch and remove it then
Or
B) keep corruption, but only have it functional in BfA zones and require both the HoA and the cloak to be equipped.
Cata also had incredible catchup mechanics. Old raids were irrelevant the instant new ones came out.
Thatâs been a decade ago.
That goes away with pre patch anyways.
They were only meant to last one patch for the whole Nâzoth theme. They served you for that patch and that is all they were meant to do. To be honest they should get rid of our neck, cloak, and essences as well and take all those quest out of the game.
You donât have to. They didnât do it in the past. They just linked that stuff to ilvl and character level. The gear you had was only relative to your current level. Once you moved past that, the value the stats had were less.
This has only been something we have really seen since legion and⌠it was a terrible experience that was completely broken when it was introduced. Scaling ruined the leveling experience in legion. The fact you could take gear off and actually kill mobs faster says as much.
Yep. That is the sad part. BFA is basically being scrubbed from the game. Everything about it just doesnât sit well with me. Sucks they have to invalidate an entire expansion.
I think thatâs one of the big reasons wotlk was so much fun. It felt like a natural power up from BC. It didnât feel like your efforts were invalidated. The game almost picked up right where we left off. Nax might as well have been the next tier in BC. It was great.
Now we are completely starting from scratch. New foreign. New systems. New borrowed power. I really donât like this direction.
Woo⌠thousands⌠meanwhile you needed close 35,000-50,000 or more.
How is that a contradiction? In your opinion that isnât recent, in mine it is. Just because you disagree with my opinion doesnât mean itâs a contradiction.
Look, I said I didnât care for the system and there is plenty of discussion to be had about it, most of which has already happened. My issue is itâs removal. The idea that players should lose something they earned is bad. I donât understand why anyone would think taking something away we earned would be good. Regardless of how much we hate or love a system, we have to work within the bounds the game sets to do what we want. If a player puts out efforts, they should get to keep those rewards.
