Why After Over 10 Years I Quit

It’s a cliched meme that is obligatorily posted on every topic such as this.

Maybe, and I can be supportive but it isn’t my job to vet every person who comes off as an entitled snob either. Might be different if I know this persons story ahead of time but I am not going to walk around in this world being tolerant of jerk and obnoxious behavior because on the off chance they might be going through something.

But you know he is going through something already. You don’t need to vet at all. The dude’s mother just passed away. And I seriously think he’s diagnosable.

I’m not saying he’s a great person but try and understand that he is ill. He changed his name legally (I believe him) to The Streamer. That alone speaks volumes.

why didn’t you ever try just getting good at the game?

this is like the third post i’ve seen with someone upset that their stream didn’t take off but they never did anything relevant in game that regular people would wanna watch

you see the people in the world first race? all of their twitch channels are BOOMING even the raiders from the guilds that didn’t win the actual race

or competitive pvp? consistency is key
if you streamed queues every day it doesn’t even matter if you’re THAT good people will watch

Welcome to the real world.

Yeah, he left near the end of 2018 or early 2019 then went on a twitter rant after willingly leaving that tried to paint it as Blizzard basically wronging him, how the program was a joke, ect. because he didn’t get out of it what he expected he should.

Pretty much how I see it. I never got to know the guy, never really talked much while in the program. Honestly he is a lot more active ever since leaving but it’s always stuff like this.

One of the few things is remember him talking about was the name thing and I thought it was a joke at the time and then he actually did it.

“Why I Changed My Name to The Streamer”

lol

I’ve never heard of this guy before, but all of these videos are old AF. Why post this rant 3 years later?

(enjoy your free advertising)

Edit:
Warning: As Dreta pointed out, this video is a bit depressing. Not really here to support or make fun of him. Posted incase anyone else was curious if this is all legit.

Listening to this video (why am I doing this?) makes me feel… bad for this guy. I think he needs some legit help.

This is also a classic and I wish I could upvote you. Cooldowns… :<

@OP, not sure why your post was reported. But it sounds to me like it’s typical internet stuff you were dealing with. The people who try to hide that they are the worst types of people IRL will show their true selves on the internet - and I don’t mean relatively silly trolling/joking but the worst kinds of actions, usually originating from jealousy/gossip. Sorry you had to deal with it, but we all do regardless of whether we’re streaming; though I’m sure making a successful run at that takes super thick skin and a staunch I-don’t-care-what-detractors-are-saying mentality.

He really does. He chases glories that he perceives exist. I know better than many that what he seeks does not exist. Professional help? Aye, he needs it. He could do with a little sunlight now and again as well. To paraphrase Frodo from Lord of the Rings’, Scouring of the Shire Chapter; “His cure is beyond us, still let us hope he finds it. Somewhere someday.”

All I can do now is offer what I offer all who say "I Quit!".

This one’s for you “The Streamer”.

I am probably a bit jaded here but it seems like too much of all of this is centered around his streaming and internet popularity and that is what is bothering me. I don’t get the sense anyways that someone is now mentally distressed over losing their parent but that they are distressed they are not getting the positive attention they hoped for with their streaming career. OK Boomer moment for me I guess but I really don’t grasp how it seems everyone now wants to be an internet star.

Tolkien has some of the most beautiful quotes, doesn’t he?

In any case… good luck to this guy. He doesn’t need to find streaming fame, he needs a counselor. I hope he seeks one out.

That shows me that this kid has got potential. That’s dedication right there. If he keeps it up, he might be able to go places. Especially with the clout he is getting from this forum post. Good luck OP. Hope you get rich!

I hear ya, I am a very private person and can’t relate to that desire to be famous either. But this isn’t entirely the case. This guy is so far out there he legally changed his name. He feels like people are backstabbing him (who? he said he had about 3 viewers) and treating him badly, etc. These are delusions of grandeur and paranoia. He is very diagnosable. We should tread lightly.

Celebrities are generally far out people. Look at asmongold. He’s an 80 pound WoW player, that use to record the maggots in his room eating his ceiling. Mcdonalds trash everywhere in his room, absolutely dirty and disgusting. Yet he made millions of dollars from twitch, and has a 10/10 girlfriend with huge boobs. Even if you’re super weird, disgusting, and crazy, you can go places. Don’t let the haters bring you down weirdos. Keep it up.

Pretty sure she dumped Asmongold a few weeks ago.

And in addition to this, Asmongold knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s a performer. OP is a broadcaster. There is an incredible difference. That said, we need to be sending this guy some links to counselors, not trying to persuade him to keep on this doomed path, Sarawut.

Really? Didn’t know. That’s normal though. People break up. He’ll find a new girl.

The only thing he’s doing wrong is getting too emotional about the haters and toxic people. Put him on nofap, get him meditating, and he’ll get better. Easy fix. Doesn’t need people telling him he’s crazy, making him feel self conscious.
