Nhallish – When Ner’zhul tore the fabric of reality and allowed the Void to spill into the ritual burial grounds of the Shadowmoon clan, the malefic spirit Nhallish came through that rift in search of souls upon which to feed. Ancient and born of pure darkness, Nhallish seeks to devour all life.

But they already said that everyone including those on Teldrassil ended up in the Maw.:pensive:

Elune doesn’t even have a realm in this expansion. I thought the Ardenweald would be her realm but apparently that’s ruled by some Winter Queen.

Once, the Jailer kept only the most dangerous souls in the cosmos confined in this eternal prison. Now, some of Azeroth’s greatest heroes are trapped here, and you’ll need to rescue them from the Jailer’s tower before he expends their very souls.

Soooo not only villains, but heroes are also going to appear in the Maw.

Who knows, maybe Saurfang and Varian ended up there. Tirion too! Oh! Please let us see Tirion again, I want a real send off.

Everyone dying recently has ended up there.

That’s what Sylvanas has been feeding with her war.

The Broken Machine
The machine of death is broken, and players entering the Shadowlands will find the realm of the dead in disarray. In the natural order of things, souls are sorted and sent on to an afterlife realm appropriate to the lives they lived, but now, but over the past few years, all souls who have perished—including the innocents slain at Teldrassil—are being funneled directly into the Maw. The Shadowlands are starving for anima even as the Maw continues to grow from the glut of fresh souls.

Sylvanas has been seemingly perpetrating acts to bring about great amounts of death and destruction. In partnership with the Jailer, they have been working toward a common end for some time.

I guess it’s about how many years is ‘past few years’.

BfA and Legion are definitely going to be included for me.

We saw Cairne in BfA fine, so it must’ve started after the beginning of Cataclysm.

The answer to what is meant by a “few years” will likely be answered, if inadvertently, if/when we find out how long Sylvanas has been aligned with this Jailer.

Why would the great Garithos be in the Maw? We all know he’s in the good side of the Shadowlands surrounded by Val’kyr babes.

garrosh hellscream

He did say off topic so he probably didn’t mean the Maw.

Garithos would’ve likely ended up in the care of the Venthyr.

Actually Garrosh is more likely to end up among the Necrolords. He is right up their alley.

problem is his pride and arrogance.

Assuming that he didn’t end up in the Maw on account of whatever force is scribbling that onto the plane tickets of the transitioning souls.

No, I think the venthyr is more Garrosh’s fate since he’s super arrogant.

His name is Manny Calavera.

Arthas for sure, the Maw is probably the hell that Sylvanas saw in Edge of Night. I’m mostly restricting it to characters who would normally be sent to the Maw. But other than that, it’s completely up in the air. Gul’Dan possibly, but his soul could very well have been sent to suffer in the Nether.

If Kael’thas wasn’t sent to the Maw, and was sentenced to the punishment explicitly stated to be less terrible than what people get in the Tower of the Damned, then it’s anyone’s guess.

Kael’thas turns out to have not been evil, just “flawed” and “prideful”. Most of his villainy stemmed from the fact that he was manipulated by Kil’jaeden, especially at key moments when he might’ve turned out better.
