What I mean is that getting a random corruption from some random drop, from random mob or boss, can easily make your progression pointless. You don’t need to do the harder content to get the better gear. Which boils down to, why even bother with harder content? Why put effort into class and boss/dungeon mechanic knowledge?

All of this is backwards. The point of harder content and progression isn’t gear. The point is to succeed at the challenge. Gear is the tool used to help with progression.

Anytime gear becomes the point you’re bound to be disappointed.
